Visited this restaurant 11/10 at 9pm right after visiting the candy shop next door. First thing to note is the genuinely warm vibe the people working the counter exude.
My wife, baby, and I showed up and were studying the menu when the woman working the register let me know to sit the car seat down to rest. Keep in mind this is a pick-up place only (no dining tables). She, and the man working behind the counter, told my wife and I to go ahead and use their waiting bench to enjoy our food and stay warm.
The pizza was actually much better than the price point suggests. The 95 cents per slice is such a bargain. The cheese didn't seem like deli fresh mozzarella, but the sauce was so surprisingly balanced! Not too acidic and very clean tasting. My wife, who easily gets heart burn, was just fine eating this pizza. The crust was nice and crunchy and the toppings were generous.
I will say that the soda cans we purchased seemed to be off on flavor. They weren't expired though, so it's possible the ice cream we ate 30 minutes prior altered our tastes.
Service was great, food was a great value at the price point, and I would...
Read moreI have a food allergy to palm oil which is very rare. If I have anything that contains it I will go into anaphylactic shock. I have been giving my business to Papa John’s but I wanted to try something new and give my business to a local place. When I called the lady who I then found out was the manager (Kim) had an attitude and was rude. Yes I understand that they can’t tell me every ingredient but when I asked multiple times to make sure that the vegetable oil was not palm oil she was really rude. I don’t like asking multiple times but I have learned that I have to because some people do not understand what exactly palm oil is. I hate that I have to ask and I hate that I can’t just go to a place and eat. The reason why I want to double and sometimes triple check is because my life is on the line and there are literally 48 different names for palm oil. I did not appreciate it what so ever. Poor customer...
Read moreGot off the highway looking for Grandpa Joe's got lost and went back to 1978... Which is funny because I was in town for a convention for a movie. That was filmed in 1978. I pretty much love everything about this place. The owners were real life human beings that you kind of want to just stay and hang out with. They've got pinball and an arcade machine for you while you wait. I've literally never seen pizza prepared the way they do it. I feel like i've also never tasted pizza quite like this. The cheese, crust, and sauce almost tasted like dipping grilled cheese and tomato soup. I will definitely be back through on my way back up to...
