Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Canton Township

My wife and I were both craving Wonton Chicken Tacos, so we decided to visit our favorite Applebee's. We were so glad that we did!

We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by Logan G. Logan was tending bar and also serving all patrons seated in the bar area, making sure everybody's needs were being addressed. I truly appreciated that he kept checking on all of the guests, not just the people seated directly at the bar.

We started with beverages, my wife choosing a Blue something, and I had a tall glass beer.

Since we got there after 9:00 PM, they had some late-night happy hour appetizer specials, so we opted for some pretzel sticks that came with Beer Cheese dip and some honey Dijon mustard. They came out hot and fresh.

Next, we ordered the Wonton Chicken Tacos. Something about the wrappers has changed. They are no longer light and crispy, it was almost like they were in a light corn chip. The chicken and slaw filling was the same, delicious flavor we love, but the wonton "taco shell" change was very off putting.

For my meal, I ordered another appetizer, the Chicken Quesadilla, with double chicken. That is truly an amazing dish! Very Southwest, with just enough jalapeno in it to give it a light kick!

My wife ordered the new Bacon Ranch Crispy Chicken Sandwich. After receiving it, her first reaction was WOW! The chicken was a full breast that extended over the bun! The chicken was crispy, yet juicy when she bit into it. Truly a delicious sandwich.

We were so pleased with the service and the food, we asked Logan to please get the manager. Logan seemed a bit surprised by the request, probably figuring we were going to complain about something.

A few moments later, Brandon arrived and introduced himself. He asked us what he could do for us. We told him that we wanted to share with him that we had an entirely enjoyable dining experience because Logan had done a great job with mixing our drinks and taking care of us & everyone seated in the bar area, and the kitchen put out hot, fresh, and delicious food!

Thank you, Applebee's Canton! We'll continue to make the trip to this location for our late night dining needs!

Tonight, we stopped at three Applebee's to finally get good service.

We wanted their chicken wonton tacos appetizer tonight, and because we were close...

The first one was on Middlebelt across from Costco. We decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was busy chatting it up with some guy drinking out of an empty Margaretta glass. After being ignored for 5 minutes, we left.

Next we went to the one in Westworld on Warren. The greeter was low energy and we told her we'd sit at the bar. There were dirty plates and glasses at most of the seats. To make room, we moved them to a corner of the bar.

The bartender was moving like she was walking in sand, slow.

After six minutes, the bartender finally came by the beer taps near where we were seated and asked us if we wanted a drink. I ordered a beer, my wife an ice tea with lime.

I got my beer, and after another five minutes, she came back with my wife's tea, no lime. My wife asked her for the lime and she turned around and went into the kitchen. After another 5 minutes, she came out with food for a lady sitting at bar, no lime.

People seated at the bar were leaving without being served. We paid for our drinks and left.

Off to the Canton location we went!

Waking up to the bar, Erin greeted us and took our drink order. We shared with her our issues getting the tacos and while found that, she put in the order for them!

Pretzels were ordered as well.

Dinner was awesome second to the service we got from Erin!

We came in on what we thought was a busy Saturday night. I saw an open table big enough for our group of 5 that needed to be cleaned. I asked if we could be seated there but the hostess said no. The server wasn't ready and it would be a 45 minute to hour wait. 3 other groups of 5 came in after us and checked in. He told them the same wait time. We decided to wait outside in the car. After 30 minutes I came inside to see everyone who came in after us was already seated, including a group at the table I was told the server wasn't ready. The hostess claimed he thought the other hostess was going to seat us. I told him we never got notified a table was ready. What's the point in giving your cell phone number then to reserve your spot? He then tried to seat us at a table not big enough for our group. I had to point out a table big enough and he agreed to sit us there. Our server was very nice, but seemed busy. Our frozen drinks melted at the bar until someone finally brought them to us. The rest of our party didn't get drinks almost until our food came. A guy who appeared to be the manager dropped off our salads. We asked for silverware and when he came back with it he gave it to the table next to us instead. The food took a long time to come out. The 3 cheese pasta penne didn't have much cheese on it at all. The steak was very chewy and fatty. The music was so loud it was hard to talk to our group. We asked our server if they were short handed and he said no. He also said they've been busier than this. That surprised and disappointed us. We we're trying to give an excuse for all the issues. We spent almost 3 hours there which is way too long. We won't be coming...

We came to this location on a Sunday which is relatively slow for this location. We sat down and ordered the shark bowl as our drink which if you have been to apple bees comes with shark gummies which we did not receive and had to go up to the bar to ask for after we had already waited 30 mins for our drinks to arrive to our table. We had ordered the pretzels with beer cheese and 5 piece wings as our appetizer. We couldn't even eat our appetizers being as we weren't seated with silverware and had to wait 15 mins before our server came back by our section and I had to wave him down to get his attention. The pretzels had no salt on them and were doughy on the inside and the celery that comes on the side of the wings had hair on it as well as the wings being soggy. My boyfriend got a hamburger as his entree and asked for it to be cooked medium rare and it came out burnt and when asked for a refill of water they brought out a dirty pitcher that had trash in it from another table the waiter didn't even notice had to tell him about it when he came back to the table. As we were sitting waiting for our bill I noticed other tables around us were sending their food back for being cold and just overall did not look happy with the service.
