If you are looking for the best local craft brewery, you've found it! Muskellunge Brewing is simply put, the best. Frank and Carla not only have brewed up fantastic recipes, they've cultivated an atmosphere that feels like home for my wife and our 2 dogs on our usual Thursday night ritual.

Their hospitality is unmatched and it's recognizable the moment you walk in with a "Hey!" from Carla behind the bar. Frank is often strolling the floor, talking table to table, getting consumer insight into all the product hes crafted.

While known for having the best popcorn in NE Ohio (my opinion as well as others!), Frank and Carla have recently added a "Flat Bread Thursday" option. Frank makes in house red sauce marinara as well as ranch and boy are they great. Coupled with the 3 cheese blend, its enough to fill one person up or shareable for 2 people. A wide selection of toppings are available to add on as well.

But the reason for the season here is the beers. Staple beers like the Deer Creek American Pilsner and Tiger Musky Double IPA as well as seasonal favs like the Striped Bass Xmas Alen and Bronzeback Octoberfest showcase Franks true passion. The first time we were here, we asked Frank to let us try his best beer and he slid us Pilsner's. So crisp and clean, you knew Frank was using the highest of quality ingredients in his beer. He wanted to show us his craft and that he hid nothing but excellence in everything he brewed. We loved it.

Stopped in for the first time. The beer is excellent however it was anything but a welcoming atmosphere. The woman sitting at the counter that works (maybe owns?) there offered no direction to is as to how they operate. We weren’t sure if they served us or how we ordered a beer. There is no signage about what beers they offer. We took a seat and finally saw a clipboard with papers sitting that had the beer choices and descriptions on it sitting next to the lady. We got up and took a few from the clipboard and sat back down. She seemed very disinterested in the whole thing. They would benefit greatly if they greeted folks, handed them a beer menu and let them know how they operate. A gentleman finally came out as we were finishing up and he was quite nice and friendly. Been going to downtown for 5 years now, always looking for a good place for a new brew to try. Let me tell you, this is a place to go. It’s not the place to go party, it’s not the place to go if you’re looking for a wild time. But you know what? Their brews are out of this world. Locally sourced materials from canton are put into their brews and their choice while small, is just so damn good.
