A pleasant surprise for Cape Girardeau.

I came during the soft-opening with several buddies of mine. Everyone was impressed!

The wait for the food wasn’t bad at all, especially during such a rush. The food itself was hot, delicious, and made how I ordered it. The staff was quick to ask if we needed help, and we were checked on a couple of times, which was nice.

The price is a bit steep and the menu could use some variety (salads would be great). Though, as advertised, Roni’s came here mainly because of the college population, so maybe the college kids won’t care.

There are acoustic issues with sound bouncing all over, making the place louder than it should be. The back door was open on a cold day, letting in a harsh breeze (but someone mentioned exhaust issues so that makes sense). There are these black lanes at the entrance that are ankle height that I tripped over three times just to get to the trash can. Lastly, parking is odd during busy times because overflow is at the Dollar General, and that drive-thru lane is pretty controversial due to safety.

All in all, Roni’s Mac Bar is great and is a long-awaited variety to have in Cape Girardeau. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt for any issues that they’ve had because they have...

This was our first time here. We have been wanting to try it since they opened. We were not able to find a menu before we got there. Parking is a little different to figure out. When you walk in they tell you to order from the kiosk. It was a little difficult to figure out the ordering. So you get macaroni noodles and then you choose your cheese(charge for extra cheese), then you choose your meat($1.99), next is your toppings, then if you want and sauce drizzle(extra fee). I was a little disappointed with the meal, I was expecting big delicious noodles. But they use a small noodles. My daughter added chicken to hers. They use some type of grilled chicken, she didn't like it. The garlic cheese bread(1 piece)was delicious. However it was on the small side and $1.50. It was $48 for the 3 of us with drinks. Me and my family came here to eat and the food tasted okay. The macaroni and cheese was just that. It didn’t actually have any flavor to the macaroni or cheese (spices of any sort) but if you add on sauce or meat then the flavors would be enhanced. Speaking of add on EVERYTHING is an add on. Sauce, veggies, chips, WATER. There’s no option on the screen for a water cup which is how you order ; on a screen. A kids Mac and cheese was $10 with chips and a juice of course add ons. My other kid got a grilled cheese which is grilled on a garlic bread ? If someone was allergic to garlic then there’s no fare warning of garlic on a kids grilled cheese.
