Update:
This used to be called something else, like āRobbieāsā, but basically the same place, since it seems my review then is attaching to the location now.
We revisited as āChunkāsā. For me, if you have basically no atmosphere, your food better kick azz. Unfortunately, the food is ājust good enoughā to not cause a complaint, but itās just not good enough to make me come back. This time we repeated the Philly Cheese and got the hot pastrami. Both were ok, decent. The fries with garlic had a big glop of some kind of squeeze-from-a-tube garlic paste, quite ungrateful, and heaped atop some very ordinary, indifferently-cooked fries. My fries need to be hot, crisp outside, tender inside, and if not, forget it. All you had to do is dump some frozen into the deep fryer. How hard can it be? Not impressed.
On top of that, our āserverā (cashier?) didnāt know if the iced tea was sweetened or not. Actually, she got it wrong, and then doubted us when we told her that.
Not returning.

My wife ordered Philly cheese, I ordered the beef shawarma. We also got garlic fries. Cheesesteak was good, tasty, and nicely toasted bread. My shawarma came as a wrap with very exquisitely thin Lavash-style wrap, like a tortilla but even thinner. The shawarma was nice but it was overpowered by a bit too much pepperoncini in the garnishes. I wish it had come dressed a bit more Greek or Lebanese style (tzatziki, feta, lemon, etc). The big bust was the garlic fries. The fries themselves were rather tasteless, indifferent frozen things, and the garlic topping came squeezed out of a tube of mashed garlic it seems. No attempt to toss in or otherwise incorporate the garlic into the fries. Disappointing, and definitely would never get that again. Overall, sandwiches were fine, fries...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo to start, I got the drayton and my wife got the pezzi. Sandwiches are outstanding. I inhaled mine and was sad I didnāt have another even though I was plenty full. 10 out of 5 stars on the food for sure that was incredible. The staff were polite and friendly and thatās all you can ask for.
I definately recommend this place. Itās now my favorite sandwich spot in Santa Cruz county. Or overall really.
I canāt give 5 stars for the food alone though. The sandwiches took 40 minuets to come out. Maybe Iām just impatient but that seems too long for sandwiches. And the fries I ordered and paid for apparently didnāt get made. A fact I only discovered when I got home unfortunately.
So the short version is the sandwiches are FIRE. Iāll be back many many times you can count on it. Iāll just have to thoroughly check my order before I leave.
Oh also no free water so donāt expect that. I had to buy my toddler a water bottle which was chaos and fun to watch haha. I donāt mind at all itās a few bucks and your supporting a local business but still worth knowing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām gonna start of like this. If you could give 0 stars, I would. Iāve been at this restaurant for the first time couple months ago, the lady at the front talked so well about the restaurant and how they got new owners and I should recommend everybody to come order and eat here. Well the first time was decent for the price. So I came a second time. All of a sudden they didnāt understand what I wanted to order but they still made it work. Okay cool. I came a third time. The lady at the cashier had to go in the back to the lady I ordered from the time before to ask what I was talking about. They couldnāt make it work whatsoever. They said the lady charged me wrong the other times and that they do not offer me what I have been ordering even though itās something they offered me the first place. I asked if I could order it with the other lady but no, she was hiding in the backā¦. Well thatās says it all, they just lost multiple customers. Too...
