Food was good, service and misleading menu - not so much. We got 2 “plates of al pastor super tacos” and 1 of “carne asada super taco plate”. The flavor was good, the toppings were nice. Do you think these plates came with sides? No, only two tacos. No rice and beans. Read below if you want the long story.
Beans were good and rice was okay. PLEASE NOTE: beans and rice were NOT included with the “super taco plate” item - although the description states: “Served with a choice of meat, cheese, rice, beans, lettuce,” the toppings were meat, guacamole, lettuce, onions, cilantro and no rice and beans. We assumed it was on the side, just like at any restaurant that serves “taco plates” but they reassured us it is sold separately. We still wanted rice and beans and agreed to have it on the side for only two of the plates. When the check came it was a separate charge. We then asked the waitress if they got it correct - the description mentioned rice and beans and there was none on the tacos. We asked if she is sure it doesn’t come on the side? She went to the back talked to someone and said they are sure and we have it wrong (even though it’s on the menu??). Anyway, they removed the charge for the sides but I want to make sure others know Taco Plates come solely with 2 tacos and nothing on the side. So the beans and rice that are stated on the menu for super taco plate just do not come with the meal, not inside the taco (which would be weird) nor on the side.
I pointed out another item (which we didn’t get but an interesting observation) - a “soft taco” on the menu is 4.95 and “two regular taco plate” is 14.95 which makes zero sense if it doesn’t have rice and beans on the side and they said it’s also correct no rice and beans on the side, it is 4.60$ more expensive than buying them separate.
Tenders were ok and onion rings were good.
The restaurant was clean and atmosphere was nice but the cleaning supplies smell overpowered anything else. I recommend using something less scented as we couldn’t even smell the good tasting food.
Based on the taste alone this would have been a solid 4.5 stars but service, misleading menu, dishonesty of staff and cleaning supplies smell made it...
Read moreIt was pretty good. Again, not like back home but okay for us (and friendly enough for those with...mild palates and the seasoning-challenged). We got the green chilaquiles and the Montecristo sandwich.
Bf liked the sandwich. The bread was yummy and just sweet enough - but not too overpowering. We missed having Montecristo sandwiches since moving here, so that was very exciting. It came with fresh fruits that actually tasted good and ripe rather than frozen. Eggs were made to perfection according to request.
I liked the chilaquiles. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to chilaquiles because nothing beats mom's homemade breakfasts. Buuut it was delicious and a sizeable portion. I would like it more if they came with a little more salsa verde and sour cream + crumbly cheese. I think you can always ask for that, though, so that's on me. There's also no shredded chicken on them, but I think that's normal at most restaurants. Like my waitstaff coworkers would always say, if ya want it just the way you like it, COOK AT HOME, FOO'!. So, not bad. I also thought it was a little...interesting that it came with an orange on top of the rice. Ah yeah, the rice was good too. Somebody really knows how to make it. My eggs were good as well (over-easy), so it wasn't a fluke.
There was plenty of seating around 1pm, but it's a pretty new restaurant so I think it'll get busier as it gains more traction. We also came in right after peak lunch time. There's regular tables and booths; indoor and patio seating available.
Overall, I think this place is nice and I hope they get discovered by more locals. The staff was also incredibly friendly and patient, which eased my anxiety since I'm a little hard-of-hearing. Oh yeah, and the menu needs to be updated already, as our two menus looked a bit different from each other and had some incorrect things, like another reviewer said (edited my review to confirm I saw the mistake too). My bf's menu did not include the Montecristo, but mine did. And NO it was not a breakfast menu vs lunch menu thing. Even the waiter acknowledged that it needed updated, because it is the GENERAL MENU, my dudes. I'd say Señor Chilaquiles lives up to...
Read moreThe food was Delicious! Super friendly service too. I had red chilaquiles, Im super picky about my chilaquiles because most places just use chips instead of tortillas which makes a huge difference. The sauce was so flavorful and I love that it was not oily like Ive had in other restaurants. The eggs, beans and rice were perfectly cooked, and my side of avocado was ripe and fresh loved it.
My bf had the carne asada plate and he says he liked everything on his plate. He never eats the pico de gallo anywhere but he really enjoyed it here. The owner also came out at some point was super friendly and he offered us spicer salsas that aren’t on the menu, they were really good!
Will definitely be...
