I follow Ela and was so excited to finally go over and try the bakery. She shows so much care in her desserts through social media. But I was highly disappointed when I saw the display case and tasted what I purchased. They had minimal selections the day I went. Just macarons and honey cake. The Macarons, mostly all had broken shells in the display. That was definitely a turn off. But to travel almost 10 hrs and not taste would have been a waste, so I thought. Macarons I got had a fragile shell and tasted stale. The honeycake was disappointing as well. I thought that was a best seller. I had never had honey cake before and she makes it sound and look so good on Instagram. But it was a let down for me. Tasted like stale bread with old cream cheese. Not sure if it's just Friday's they don't stock up or put fresh product out. But it was very disappointing. I saw so many people stop then walk away because there was no one in the front to even help them. They were all hanging out in the back kitchen. Didn't even notice when a potential customer came around. I really debated leaving a review. I went last month, and I am sorry to give such a low rating. Before visiting Santa Cruz, I called a week in advance to order a cheesecake. There were plenty of options for flavors and the birthday person chose salted caramel. The cheesecake was ready and packaged well at pickup. The red ribbon added a special touch! We also forgot candles and were able to add one last minute.

Opening up the box another ribbon and thick caramel greeted us. I was pleased the bakery correct honored my request to spell BIRTDAY, an homage to an inside joke with the birthday girl. The cheesecake was as tasty as it was pretty. Great service and quality product. This will be our go to sweet shop...

Ela and Henry are the sweetest and so creative! Everything they make is incredible. We especially love their macarons. We ordered a custom lemon poppyseed baby shower cake with lemon, mango passion fruit and dark chocolate mango passion fruit macarons. They gave us a sample of their latest creation a blue cheese and apricot macaron — it’s a must even if you don’t like blue cheese. Try it!
