Newby's Pizza — Restaurant in Carbondale

I ordered pizza for delivery tonight and had a small issue with my food that I was unsure was my fault or if my pizza had been accidentally messed up. My driver was nice the food looks and tastes great but I thought I had ordered a pizza with pep and bacon on the whole and pineapple on half. My pizza came with all of it only on half. It’s 10:30, I understand they close soon, but I thought I would call and check and see if I had made the mistake or if there might be something that could be done as I don’t really like cheese pizza. I called and tried to be as nice as possible and when I explained the situation the man on the phone, Carter immediately said no. I said “what?” He said no. I asked “what do you mean?” We talked for maybe 30 seconds longer and he was just being kind of rude and I was really only trying to inquire about my order so I could make sure I didn’t make the same mistake again if it was me or maybe get it sent back out and switch the pizzas out if it was them. He then quickly hung up and said he would be back in a minute. Who I assume was a manager picked up and I told him, if I made the mistake, it’s no big deal and I wasn’t expecting them to do anything if that was the case. He cleared it up pretty quickly and let me know it was me and that was the end of it. I just wasn’t expecting to be put on edge so quickly by calling and asking. I understand as someone who works in the fast food industry that customers can be rude and that’s hard to deal with, but I tried my best to make it clear that I wasn’t upset and wasn’t expecting anything if it was my fault. I know that can be annoying. Safe to say I won’t be ordering in the future as I just wouldn’t want to deal with calling if I did have an issue...

I ordered from Newby Pizza a few weeks ago and was unimpressed with the quality of the product and the service. I chalked it up as a new business trying to get On their feet.

I went back for a second time, and again the food was not good and the service terrible.

This is your run of the mill cheap pizza parlor with cheap ingredients. . Employees seem uninspired and the product itself is very basic and cheap ingredients. Sauce has no flavor., Crust is not crispy. My sub had burnt cheese attached to it.

They charged me for garlic butter, dipping sauce, but did not include it. When I asked them to bring out my garlic butter(That I paid for) They told me I would have to purchase a minimum amount again to have the garlic butter I already paid for delivered.

The girl on the phone was very rude and seems to want to get me off the phone.

From what I have heard, This guy used to own Primos and tried opening a new shop. This is basically Primos 2.0 While trying to act as if it is some newfound great restaurant.

This place will not be in business long with the service and quality they provide. It seems very counterintuitive to open a pizza place and a town that is saturated with pizza places.

Save your money, and do not order the slop. Be outrageously expensive for a subpar product. You guys need...

I’m not one to usually write reviews but I just had to after my order tonight. I ordered a hand tossed pepperoni pizza, BBQ traditional wings, and cinnamon sticks. There was a very small mix up that was resolved easily but I just have to brag about how above and beyond they went to make things right and to make sure I was happy. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a business go as far as they did to make things right. On top of phenomenal customer service anything I have ordered from them this time or in the past has been very good. Their wings are absolutely bomb! In my opinion some of the very best wings around. The cinnamon sticks were awesome. I think I might order extra icing with them next time just because I love a lot of icing but they were by no means skimpy on the icing as they came. Any of their pizzas I have had have been extremely good, made with good quality ingredients! The only thing that I think they could maybe improve on is on the hand tossed pizzas (I haven’t tried the thin crust) they could use to maybe cook just a little bit longer but they aren’t doughy or anything I would just prefer them a little bit crispier.
