I recently hosted a going away event at D&B for a colleague, and it was exceptional. From booking to the dining and gaming experience, everything was great.
The food here is decent. Nothing super special, but you can get your typical American fare / bar food here. The redeeming thing is the draft craft beer selection, which is decent and included some good local brews. Hopefully D&B continues to expand the beer menu.
The best part of the entire experience was the staff! I can emphasize how awesome they all were:
For booking, Jordyn Szwargulski scheduled my room and worked as the event coordinator prior to our arrival. She was extremely professional and knowledgeable. She explained all costs up front, and answered all of my questions promptly and with expert precision.
One of the senior managers, Jarred Roberts, greeted myself and others in my party upon arrival. He made every attempt to ensure we were taken care of. He made me (and my party) feel extremely welcomed. He made sure the tables were set, water was available, and the TV and music were tuned to our liking. He also answered all questions we had about cost, and the best way to take advantage of some of the promotions D&B had going for game/food combos. All these things added up to an incredible experience. He took the time to check in with me multiple times during the night, showing he didn't just welcome us and move on to other things. His dedication and professional attitude are, in my opinion, uncommon in today's service industry, and people like him are the primary reason customers will return here.
Our two servers Brooke and Valerie were also amazing. Their attitudes were warm and inviting, and they did an amazing job tending to over 30 people, which is no small feat. Their combined efforts kept food and drinks coming at a pace that would have been difficult to maintain for twice that many servers. They worked extremely hard to ensure every single person in the party was satisfied, and handled everything from food and drinks, to getting power cards for us. When the checks came, they were organized, and everything went smooth.
Hands down, the staff was the best part of...
Read moreThis is the first time I have ever felt like I truly needed to leave a review. So on Nov 22 2019 we had a fairly large party visit David and Busters in Carlsbad Ca. We were seated very promptly which was about the only thing that was pleasant about that experience. The waitress took our drink orders first and I had ordered a regular Ice Tea non alcoholic. Yet for some reason it took 20mins to get my drink even though all other alcoholic drinks were served in a reasonable amount of time. Also some of the guest were even able to put in a second drink order while I had not even received my first. The waitress only noticed I didn’t have a drink when I had to say something and had already moved onto our dinner orders. By this time I was a little frustrated. Once she brought my $3.95 Ice Tea I placed my order for what I hoped would be a redeeming dinner entire the steak and shrimp with a lobster sauce over linguine. But yet again I was left disappointed and frustrated she finished taking all dinner orders and left the table at 8:05pm. The entires came to our table in the order in which we had ordered for the most part and can you guess what happened next I was skipped and continue to be patient and wait. I didn’t really start to get upset until as I waited still hungry she started to hand out the checks and most all the people in my party had finished their food. Yet here I set hungry I would even dare to say very hungry. At 9:05pm I had had enough and informed the waitress that due to the poor service I had lost my appetite and patience. Did she ask are you sure or try to make things right................ No she didn’t she went upon her day as if I was an inconvenience for her. I would have to say even after all that. I still got stuck with a bill of $3.95 for the singular Ice Tea. The service was piss poor and would highly discourage anyone from visiting that establishment. Thank you David and Busters for the piss poor service as experience. You all really know how to make a person feel welcomed and...
Read moreThis is a great place for me to take my 6 year old to play video games and win tickets/prizes while I can enjoy watching sports on the many TVs they have setup to catch all types of sports.
The food is decent. Mostly bar-type food. But, my kid is picky and the chicken tenders are a favorite. So, it’s nice to be able to go somewhere that both my kid and I can enjoy two different kinds of entertainment and have lunch at a semi reasonable price.
Ahhh. Who am I kidding. I love playing the games and winning tickets for my kid. They have a shop in the back where you can redeem tickets for all kinds of prizes. Yes. The toys vs. the amount of money spent to get the tickets to buy them makes it a ripoff if you’re looking for a value-purchase. But, if you want to go out and have fun with any aged children, while having a sports bar available for you to take breaks and let the kids go run around and play games.
I know some of you are probably thinking: “What kind of parent would let their young child run around by themselves and not be worried about losing them!!!” To those people I will say that there’s only one entrance and it’s also the exit. So, your kids are safe and can’t run out if you position yourself at the bar near to or with eyes on the door.
I really enjoy coming to this place because my kid loves to “win” tickets and buy little things at the shop. They even bought Mom some birthday presents from there. There are “prizes” you can get for both kids and adults in the shop.
Go try it out. I do feel I need to let you know that it’s very loud inside D&B’s. So, taking a break at the sports bar, or just outside the door in the big mall sitting area is very helpful for me to avoid going completely nuts! But, ear plugs might be a good idea if you/your child have sensitivity to...
