I placed my order online before I got off work at 11pm; w curbside pickup. I arrive at the restaurant early so I waited before I called the number on the email verification and on the signs at curbside pickup. Once I reached the timeframe my food would be ready, I called the number. It wouldn’t even ring after the automated system “connected me” w the restaurant. There was just another automated message stating no one was available. So I called again, and again and then chose the option to place an order to see if that would work—the kind woman who was a third party agent, couldn’t get through either. I didn’t get down right away to get my food because from the time I arrived to the time I left, (54mins later), there were several young adults, males and females running across the street in front of the restaurant, walking by people’s cars real closely including mine, yelling and hollering at the top of their lungs and running around the whole parking lot but mostly staying by the front entrance of the restaurant. I honestly did not feel safe getting down. They all had their cars there and were also revving up their engines and still yelling and laughing by my car and in the parking lot. The restaurant did nothing about this; I literally saw the blonde at the front just stand by the window watching them then turned and walked away. I eventually got down because a large truck w the young adults blocked me in from being able to back out, even if I wanted to. I went in quickly to get the food I paid for, and when I asked the woman upfront about the number and curbside, she said “oh we don’t have a phone”. What?? A business w no phone? Then update your website and change the signs??? I also told her I didn’t feel comfortable w all the people outside yelling and just loitering around the front door—she just said, “oh, yeah”. Again, what!? I didn’t even bother asking for a manager. I got my food, went to my hotel and the food made me sick, literally nauseous. I’m not really a picky eater, so idk why I felt so sick; granted it didn’t really taste as great and for ordering biscuits and gravy w about a tablespoon of gravy, I was def unimpressed overall. I didn’t eat my food past those three bites and lied down after feeling sick. Maybe I just had a bad experience, after all it was late when I got there, but I’d just gotten off work and they are open 24/7. Nevertheless, I don’t plan on eating there anytime soon, if at all. Plus it was over 20$ for just a small bowl of biscuits and a tablespoon of gravy and two pancakes, so expensive. Disappointed after a...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible service. We walked in and stood for at least 5 minutes, as there was no one up front to greet or seat us. Another girl, I think a waitress had to yell at the person that was supposed to be up front. She finally decided to make her way up front. Then were told to go and sit at a "clean booth", and "i'll be over to give you your menu's in a minute. We walked by multiple dirty tables/booths which is just completely unsanitary and gross. It looked like they had been dirty for a while, but the staff didn't seem to care.
The waitress took our drink order, and gave me the wrong drink. I asked for sweet tea, and was brought unsweetened tea. I thought that I was pretty clear when speaking as to what I wanted for my beverage.
Then we proceeded to wait at least 20 minutes or more for our food, and there was like 3 or 4 other diners in the establishment. So there was no excuse as to why our food took that long. While waiting for our food, the waitress walked around on the phone on speaker phone/face time talking to whoever. Then proceeded to air her dirty laundry into the kitchen to the so called "manager" across under the heat lamps where I watched food sit for at least 15 minutes.
When we received our food, my omelet was luke warm, all the toppings/fillings were ice cold, and the hash browns were basically raw/under-cooked. Other party members pancakes were missing their bananas, and the other had the wrong pancakes all together. The order was not complicated, and I believe a 5th grader could have had more intelligence to do something right.
I was afraid to say anything as you could pretty much tell no one their gave a damn about the quality of service and/or food being sent out of the kitchen. They would have probably just spit in our food. Additionally, the other kitchen staff walked away outside to smoke or something and left one person in the kitchen being the "manager".
The waitress wasn't even present to remove dishes from the table, probably too busy again on her damn phone to worry about customer service. Had to flag down the so called "manager" that didn't seem to know how to do anything, saying "I dunno" multiple times while we were there. I think his name was Derek? Don't really care to remember.
We definitely won't be back, and I recommend anyone else planning to visit this location, JUST DON'T. You'll regret it! I can't believe the level disservice, and poor customer service. As well as just the pure un-professionalism displayed by the staff. It was...
Read moreI am not from Carlsbad, but here visiting as always and boy do I have words to say about this place. IAN, the GM is not a guy I would like to work alongside. The moment I stepped foot in this place, we felt a vibe and bad tension coming from the staff. Nobody smiled. As the hostes tried to greet us, she had to ask the GM how long of a wait it would be before even sitting us when it's her job to know as he tried doing her job for her. Once our food came out, there was a hair on my plate, and they quickly got it fixed and was great. 5 mins into my husband, wating his food there was a hair within his cheese and potato, and when addressed to the manager Tina, she quickly apologized and asked if we would like something else as she was being helpful IAN came up and budded in and as we told him he looked around and didn't have anything to say but kinda got a fill that we pit that hair there. He tried to give my husband back the plate of food, and before walking off, we told him we didn't want that plate he could take it with him. As he is back behind the counter, he is talking ugly to his manager and putting her down cause she said there was a hair in our food he was embarrassed as a waitress for 15yrs this happens nobody's perfect but the way THE GM handled his side was Un called for. And when we saw him whispering and look our way, we asked if there was a problem, and he said no. So we expressed our concerns about the bad tension coming from this restaurant, and he quickly got defensive. The food was good and delicious, and the cooks did an awesome job. Once IAN walked to the back and was in the back for the time, we finished the staff in front, smiled, greeted, and even laughed with each other. TINA, the manager girl, keep up your good work and don't ever let a MAN with a big ego ever let you get out of corrector. If it was up to me, IAN would no longer work for...
