Wienerschnitzel — Restaurant in Carlsbad

I love Wienerschnitzel and was so excited when this one finally opened. We waited in the very long drive thru. They were very quick and the food was pretty good but that is were it ends.

I had gone to the main site and looked for our location. One of my favorite things about Wienerschnitzel is the coupons. I saved one for $2 jalapeno poppers. An employee brought us a paper menu to the car while we waited with no prices. When it was my turn to order the very nice employee informed me they were not accepting coupons. Okay no biggie. Moving on we decided we would get a crowd pleaser because it seemed like the best deal. The menu board said the #7 Crowd Pleaser was $28.99. That seemed higher than the other locations I had been to but living in Carlsbad I was use to that. When I got to the window my total was $34.30. That seemed like a lot of tax. Turned out the Crowd Pleaser was $31.86 not $28 99. I asked them about it and they told me that they were having issues and the prices on the menu were not accurate. So I had to just pay $3 more. We paid and I complained the whole time we ate our very expensive lunch. It just didn't taste as good going through all that and I haven't been back. Really dissapointing.

We had a really bad experience here. My son is autistic, they couldn't understand his order and he repeated it twice I said it once. He ordered a cheeseburger with only ketchup and a strawberry shake. They gave him a cheeseburger with everything and a strawberry lemonade. I went back u counter and repeated order again... the guy in kitchen had to be told 3 times ketchup only. Waited a good 10 minutes then worker asked if we got our food, I said no not yet. Kitchen worker said he Ajay handed it out. Apologetic but had no clue what they were doing. I asked for a manager but no manager was in. Very bad service... by the time I got my son's order my food was cold.... no offers of coupons or anything else just a sorry.

I'm editing this review and bumping it up to 3 stars because the manager Natalie called me back and apologized. She offered me a free meal and shake and asked me to give them another chance. Since the manager is trying to make it right I raised the rating for the accommodation and a manager...

The only reason I’m even giving a star is because the shake was okay. They didn’t acknowledge us for a good bit when we walked in, they were out of fries and mini corn dogs. Forgot my drink, and our food was ready and sitting in the window for 10 minutes before the poor guy who was handling drive thru and the counter gave it to us. Two other workers were standing there staring at us and didn’t bother to help this boy when he was clearly struggling. The guy taking our order was so sweet and apologetic but the other workers were lazy and rude. The soda machines were all out of sodas and we had to try several before finding a soda that would work.
