Worst experience I've ever had with a doorman, I think his name was Carlos, and I've met a lot of doorman.... it was my wedding weekend and the first night about 12 of us went to Barmel and inside so many people were complaining about the doorman being rude and in a bad mood, and although I didn't experience it myself the impression he had on others was memorable to say the least. The next day after a beautiful day-long wedding, my newly wed wife and I, just the two of us, went to Barmel with three friends already inside, no line or wait at the front. Carlos the doorman, immediately without a hello or smile, and in the most unwelcoming and distasteful way tells us we have too many in our party and he can't let us in but he can if we buy bottle service... I told him maybe four are coming but they can go somewhere else, just my wife and I would like to go in, but instead he tries relentlessly to sell my wife and I bottle service after we repeatedly said we don't want bottle service.... It was amazing how he had no regard for us being newlywed and still in our wedding clothes, and he thought with a rude approach we'd happily buy a table - i mean if he was even nice about it maybe i would've considered but it felt like someone was trying to scheme the living heck out of me. I thought this place had a bit more class, consideration, and well mannered employees but obviously not with horrible doorman ruining many people's experience on multiple nights before they even enter the place.... The approach at the front door needs a 180...
Read moreThe atmosphere is 5/5 with great music but be warned the manager of this place is psychotic. Larger seemingly Mexican man with black hair. I had no problem going in and out that night- was minding my own business and tried entering the left side of the bar. The manager who I thought was some random creep because he had no name tag or uniform pushed out of the door in front of me and kept asking if I had a drink. Again, I had no clue this man worked there- as the bouncer at the door said nothing. I tried to walk past him and he grabbed me (I’m a 24 year old women) and shoved me to the side yelling and saying that I need a drink to enter ? What???? How am I supposed to have a drink without entering the bar? I still had no idea who this man was so I looked to the uniformed bouncer and the manager yells “DONT LOOK AT HIM LOOK AT ME” We had the same issue later with my friend. He made us purchase drinks at the right side of the building before entering the left which makes zero sense. One of the employers actually apologized for their managers behavior but it really left me shaken. When the manager wasn’t there the rule wasn’t applied. It was all very confusing and I don’t appreciate being touched and yelled at by a man who doesn’t even...
Read moreMy group attempted to have drinks here last night around 8:30pm. The first person in our group asked a female employee about getting drinks and she snapped at him and said “we can’t have you guys here because you’re going to take away tables from the couples and your group will take up too much space.” Then she snapped at our bride, that we were celebrating, and asked what we were still doing there. And as we all are trying to figure out where to go, by the fourth or fifth time of her snapping at my guests, I intervened. I attempted to tell her the size of our group and get more information from her, but she replied with “I’m sorry do we have a problem?” Me and several guests were extremely disrespected. Thankfully Hunter came to us and handled the situation like a normal person. Yes we had a large party but he explained the bottle service information and guided us to the other location. There was absolutely no need for the escalation with the rude woman, or ruining our bride’s night, and they lost...
