UPDATE 10/1: how funny they can respond to every review on here, but for some reason mine is being ignored? that’s not coincidental, probably because they are embarrassed that they don’t have empathy. what bad business practices they have. it’s a shame, i guess all the money and “fanciness” in the world can’t buy class. shame, shame, shame.
i was thinking back on how i had to spend my birthday this year running from the fires, and realized i never wrote my review about what happened to me. so here i am 3-4ish months later. i would never choose this place again. it was my 30th birthday and my 7 year anniversary with my boyfriend. i booked a room 8 months prior to jan 8th. we were to stay there from the 7th of january i think to the 10 or 11th i can’t remember. i had a really awesome price. superrrrr excited. it was CHEAP. like 300 total for the entire stay. not sure how i was locked into a price so low, but i did it myself through the website. i was going to ring in my 30s the right way.. or so i thought, because nature had other plans. on the morning of jan. 7th we were to drive out to carmel. we live in los angeles. we were woken up to the news of the palisades fire, and all the other fires that were starting around it. we were essentially blocked off from all ways to get there. any route we tried, there was a fire forming and we didn’t want to risk being stuck in the car. i mean who would?? anyways, i called a week later to try and reschedule.. they would not offer the rate i had when i originally booked. i pleaded and asked if they can make an one time exception given we had just gone through possibly one of the worst natural disasters of our time. a freak situation. something i didn’t plan on happening whatsoever on what was supposed to be a really awesome new chapter for me turning 30 not to mention celebrating 7 years with my boyfriend! they wouldn’t budge. i asked to speak to the manager at the time and they just gave me the corporate speech “oh we feel your pain, we know how hard this must be for you” like what the hell? they told me i could re-book with the new rate which was hundreds of dollars more. HUNDREDS. i was so upset. they couldn’t even honor it despite the fact we were literally trapped in a bubble in los angeles while fires raged all around us? like who even plans for something like that to happen? ever since then I’ve had a horrible taste in my mouth with this company. couldn’t believe they’d throw me to the wind like that considering the detrimental circumstances that surrounded this freak situation. for that reason i will never ever recommend this place to anyone. i’ll be sure to warn all of my friends about this place and their GREEDY, unsympathetic attitudes. i mean really. couldn’t make ONE exception??!?? rude as hell. this company sucks and lacks basic...
Read moreLe Petit Pali at 8th was amazing! We celebrated my 30th here from Fort Worth, TX and had such an amazing trip. We brought our 7 month old son and had baby rental gear delivered via BabyQuip. Karen and Shaq set up the gear and moved us to a bigger room before we got there which was so sweet, we definitely felt welcomed as a family. Shaq was so helpful with recommendations and Karen was always checking in to see if we needed anything. The champagne breakfast is a fun touch and Natalie our waitress was on top of it. I always felt like staff was on top of cleanliness and our room was always so clean. Valencia the housekeeper did a great job and I loved that they were always cleaning around our time out of the room and trying to make in convenient for us. The decor of the entire place is precious and such a fun vibe and the T3 straightener, blow dryer, and clothes steamer are nice additions as well! This would be a great place for a girls trip, couple, or families. I previously read concerns on parking and the walls being thin but I will say the little amount of foot traffic I heard from the room upstairs didn’t bother us or the baby at all, and the parking during December wasn’t much of an issue either. If having a parking lot is priority then you could select the ocean ave property that Le Petit Pali has. Chris at the front desk was super helpful at checkout explaining the differences in properties so I know for next time but we would definitely come back here because of the great touches and the customer service! The room did have a mini fridge but I also needed a freezer for ice packs for my breastmilk and the front desk was happy to keep the ice packs in their freezer up front, just a note for moms traveling with milk. Thanks for an amazing 30th birthday trip!
A note on the AC….most hotels in Carmel don’t have them which worried me a bit being from Texas but in December we kept a window open during the day and heater on at night and the temp...
Read moreIt's hard to put into words how great my fiancee and I's stay at Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave was. I want to personally thank Alex, Jez, Diane, and Shaq for their superb customer service, kindness, and thoughtfulness that made our stay in Carmel magical––they provided, by far, the best service I have experienced in any hotel or accommodation and will be a permanent cornerstone of our trip here. Alex in particular helped make our trip memorable forever by helping create a memorable experience for my fiancee and I after we got engaged in Point Lobos.
The rest of the staff here also maintains this type of standard to keep the hotel in perfect shape and the guests feeling like everything is curated for them. The room is so cozy with inspiring attention to detail that makes it a truly unique experience hard to find elsewhere. The location of the hotel is within walking distance of all the great attractions in Carmel––the beach, downtown for shopping, and the Carmel Plaza to spend a day getting lost. The complimentary breakfast was also great, highlighting the local Rise + Roam bakery with offerings of champagne and mimosas. We did not have trouble parking alongside the street of the hotel, or a block away at public parking––if anything, it gives even more reason to walk a bit and look around at this beautiful sights.
I could go on further, but will end with: you must visit this hotel if you want an experience you can't find elsewhere–– for a romantic trip, a curated experience in a magical place, or a stop on the way of coastal California. Thank you Alex and Le Petit Pali, for being a part of this new chapter in our lives.
I hope we can stay in touch with the team for...
