Tacoma Taco Enchilada Grill — Restaurant in Carol Stream

I live 3 minutes from here and was anticipating their opening. I really wanted it to be good food and a good experience. I went through the drive thru and there was only 1 car ahead of me. I ordered 3 tacos, 1 quesadilla, chips and salsa, and their Choridip. When the worker gave me the bag I specifically asked if everything was in there. I got home and there was no chips and salsa and no Choridip. My total order was $25 and $11 of the food was not even given to me. I immediately grabbed my receipt and called the phone number listed on it. I couldn't believe it when the number was disconnected. I went on their website, found their number and told them what happened. The person who answered had no clue if he could refund my credit card and said "would you like me to ask the manager"? They apologized and said they would refund me. As for the food, the tacos were just ok and the quesadilla that cost $5 was not good. How do you mess up such an easy order especially when they were not busy? First impressions are everything and I will not be returning. I had no idea what to expect when we decided to try this place tonight. The food was pricy but good. My husband and son got the 2 enchilada combo, I got the burrito and taco combo. Husband really liked his enchiladas. My son has some special needs and found the sauce a bit too spicy for his liking. All of the employees were super friendly and checked in several times. Gio came over to chat and make sure we were enjoying our food. We shared my son's needs and he offered to work with him to help him love his food. I thought the chicken burrito was really good with the sauce being the star, not the meat. My steak taco with cilantro and onion was exceptional. The tortilla was bigger than most Mexican restaurants. Chips and Salsa are not a part of the meal unless you pay extra. I missed them, but didn't really need them anyway as the service was really fast. Our food was ready in a couple of minutes. This is not Taco Bell, you aren't going to find a 79 cent taco with a spoonful of meat and a pile of lettuce. I can't wait to go back and try a few more things...

Was a little hesitant on going in but I am glad we did! It was super cute and nicely decorated inside! The staff was knowledgeable and nice! They serve complimentary chips and salsa. We love queso with chorizo so we added that. It was delicious! They have alcohol beverages and the michelada was exactly what I had a taste for! The birria plate came with 3 pieces and the consome. It was delicious! We also ordered the taco dinner - 1 pastor and 2 streak tacos. They were good. I personally like a bit more flavor and seasoning. The pastor was crispy. The streak was clean but a bit over cooked and like I said maybe a bit tasteless. They seem like they have some many different options to choose from!
