Dang Burger — Restaurant in Carpinteria

Dang Burger is in downtown Carpinteria, CA. They share space with the Sunburst Wine Bar. I knew I had to check this place out since every time we drove by, the patio was packed. I did check it out and that burger sure is a dang delicious burger.

When you walk into the building, Dang 's ordering counter is to the left. Staff are super helpful. Awesome attitudes. Sunburst Wine Bar is to the right. The outdoor patio is for all customers to use.

All the burger patties are 3 oz patties of grass feed beef with the cattle carrot feed. That's what the menu stated. I don't know if feeding the cattle carrots makes the meat taste sweeter and more tender. But I do know the burger was delicious. The burger cost $9, not a normal price I would like to pay for a minimalist burger with a 3oz patty. The menu options are not large. They have a few burger choices $9-$14, a black bean burger (vegan) $14, uncured hot dog $6, salad $10, boiled peanuts $3, chocolate chip cookies $2, and fries $4-$6 that comes in two sizes and two cooking methods. Both method involves hand pressed fries. Then one involves deep frying twice in tallow; and the other is a vegan version. I had the non vegan version. Mmm. As I ate them, I had no clue how they were prepared. Delicious though. But I'll go with the vegan...

Coming from a carp local who eats here quite often:

anybody (particularly out of towners) who disrespects a local family owned establishment and their young staff members are sad losers & lame!!!

this place is the definition of made with love!!! to the people in these reviews and to those who have visited and have complained about the wait time, you simply don't understand the concept of fresh ingredients being assembled TO ORDER. meaning they literally prepare their food for the day straight from the local farm cart to your plate. some of y'all are just so used to fast food chains who have your factory-made meal ready before you even get there.

the staff at dang burger consists of genuine kind people that are local to the area. the vibe of the place is the epitome of a beautiful small beach town. and the owners are working their asses off making your burger. HAVE SOME RESPECT MAN.

and if you got a problem with how they run their business: instead of brutally disrespecting one of their many amazing cashiers who are simply doing their best on one of the busiest days of the year (mother's day), you need to realize that YOU are the problem.

FYI SCREAMING AT A CASHIER AND MAKING THEM CRY ISN’T GOING TO MAKE YOUR FOOD COMS OUT ANY FASTER....

We've eaten our way through a lot of burgers across California, and nothing even comes close to this place. Hands down, this is the smashburger champion of the state--no contest.
