3 visits total we enjoyed the food very much, however the first two times the service extremely slow and the second time I received my drink order after my appitzer, sadly no I wasn't happy. The food was good tho and I loved the oysters grilled. The fish is great including the fish taco, fried fish and the halibut it was amazing! We went all three times during busy dinner and last hr of happy hour. The second time we were unable to enjoy the happy hour prices because of the super slow service, however the waiter across from us, his tables were receiving several orders. Our waitress told us the bartender was behind and did apologize. However we did witness several drink orders coming out to others. So the third time we decided to give this restaurant one more chance because the food is good. What luck we had Noah! Thank you to him! We had a good meal and exceptional service! The patio is nice the sun can be super bright if your not in the shade at Sundown. That happened on the second visit. it gets chilly at night sit by a heater or bring jackets.

Driving thru the charming downtown of Carpinteria looking for a late lunch we came upon Teddy’s where we were greeted by Andrew. We were seated on the large outside patio with heaters to take off the chill in the air. We started with the Ahi Poke Nachos which which were sweet and tasty. The Diva went with the grass fed beef burger which she said was delicious! I believe her, because usually she gives me half of her burger, but not this time! The sweet potato fries had just the right amount of crispness and salt. I went with the batter dipped, deep fried fish tacos which were scrumptious and rated right up there with my favorite fish tacos that I used to get at Kelly’s French Bakery in Santa Cruz, before they closed the restaurant part of their business. I washed it all down with an ice cold pint of Firestone 805 Blonde Ale on tap. Our waiter, Andrew, was top notch! He not only got a nice tip, but I left him with an ice cold bottle of my favorite beer, Allagash Brewing White Ale.

Teddy’s came highly recommended. We thought we would give it a try. We sat outside. It was a little cold night, but they had the warmers on. The server was very attentive. Spicy Chicken Sandwich - 5 stars - super good. Great sweet to spicy ratio. I didn’t get it, but it had me second-guessing my choice. Cedar plank salmon - 5 stars - great flavor. The portion felt a bit small for the price. It was all very flavorful. Crabcake appetizer - 5 stars - we get crabcakes most everywhere we go that offers them. These were some of the best. Again, a little small for the price, but the flavor was high. Clam chowder - 5 stars - those who hadn’t loved it. Bread and butter appetizer - 3 stars - we have a simple rule as the family. If they offer bread and butter as an appetizer, we have to get it. Normally it is spectacular. These were very meh. Overall, it was great. If we find our way back to the area. We would definitely go back

Maybe the chef called in sick this day because our dinner meal was horrific. Far cry from the current 4+ star rating. The maitre-d was going around asking tables how their food was. Before he came, we had a really hard time eating the green rice that came with the Seared Ahi entree. We thought maybe it was us but each time we tasted the rice again, it tasted putrid. I asked the waitress for plain rice. She laughed and said "Oh, we don't have any plain rice here". Husband and I looked at each other bewildered. Where did they get this green rice from if not from plain white rice made in their kitchen???? The coconut sauce and veggies accompanied the Ahi was all.. well, yuk. Tasted like it was poured out of a plastic bag. The ahi was rare in the center as it should be but far from seared. I had the Cioppino. The sauce tasted like it's been sitting in a tin can all day and they just warmed it up and threw in some seafood. Came with 2 very small thin slices of French toast. I nibbled on the shell fish and just couldn't eat the rest. Didn't want to chance on what might really be in it and get sick. The maitre-d took the Ahi dish off and gave us a free glass of wine but it didn't fill our tummy up with satisfaction as we expected from the rating. Extremely disappointed. Wasted our money and time for a terrible dining experience. Will not be returning for a long long long long long long long long time. Sorry, Teddy. You'll really need to find out what happened and never let it happen again or it'll eventually catch up to you. People spending their money their deserve much better. Hope you'll follow up with your staff and fix the...

We LOVE everything about our dinning experiences at this charming spot!! We live in LA and have stopped here before because we thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere on the outdoor patio, the service and the food. These are all the aspects of what makes this place so special. Yesterday we drove in for an early dinner on the patio because we knew it would be a fabulous book end to a perfect day spent together. We were sat quickly at a fantastic table by Pedro the manager, and even though we weren't greeted by our server for several minutes we were quickly redeemed by what I am about to share which was a wonderful dining experience. We ordered the calamari and dinner rolls for appetizers and I chose the salmon on a cedar plank that came with smashed (not mashed) potatoes with course salt and green beans and my date ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Oh my goodness, the salmon was honestly one of the most delicious items I've ever eaten!! I've owned a restaurant so I know good food and the importance of a good presentation on a dish and let me tell you, I was very very impressed with every mouth-watering bite!! I was told that the fried chicken was excellent as well, however my dinner date said he's going to be sure to order the salmon next time. We didn't order any cocktails but everyone around us seemed to be thoroughly enjoying them, especially the margaritas. We ended our meal with the key lime pie which was recommended by Pedro, he was correct, it was absolutely delicious!! If you're ever in Carpinteria you must stop here and even if you're not in the area it's absolutely worth the...

I really wanted to like the place. Visited on a Tuesday on the tail end of lunch.

I ordered fish and chips, they then offered other sides to order failing to mention that it will replace the "chips" part of the meal. Got the fish without the chips... in addition, the deep fried part of the fish was on the rubbery side.

The fries on the other entrees seemed like they were overcooked and stale, brown on the outside but chewy on the inside didn't taste fresh.

We also ordered 1/2 dozen oysters on a half shell, they were ok the menu doesn't mention their origin - eating them, they were missing the crisp ocean taste experienced at other places. Was expecting a fresher taste due to the restaraunt proximity to the ocean

There were fumbles in service like the fish & "chips" previously mention as well as mix-ups bringing Choco and regular milk (2 Choco milks instead of 1 of each. They forgot to bring bread with the choppino and we needed to flag someone down to ask for it. Finally after paying, they forgot to return the card and I needed to ask for it back at since they left it in the register.

Drinks were good. We ordered the spicy margarita and regular margarita. Would comeback for drinks, but definitely not food especially for the price.

I really wanted to like this place because of the other reviews and location, but was let down. There were too many problems...
