Have been coming here for over a year since I moved to the DFW area. One time early on the owner asked me to bus a table for her because she was slammed. Mind you that I was ordering take out so it wasn’t even that I would be bussing my own table. I’m not sure why she thought that would be okay, but sometimes Korean elders do that to people they think are much younger.
The service has been great from the other workers at the register, but the owner has been consistently rude. Today was the last straw, because she accused me of trying to steal her recipes. I literally have brought my friends here twice in the past week because I liked their fruit ribbon ice bingsoo. She pointed out that I ordered the same thing both times so that I must be trying to take notes on her recipes as her business is so successful. I stated that no, I’m just a fan. She then stated that others have stolen her recipes before and that it’s not out of the question that I could be here to do that. Needless to say, my friends and I left soon after.
TL;DR - if you don’t speak Korean, their bingsoo is pretty good. If you do speak Korean, don’t come twice in a row and order the same thing or the owner will accuse you of trying to steal her recipes. I’ll def be going to somi somi and snow city...
Read moreCocohodo is hands down my favorite spot for a chewy, delicious taiyaki (boonguppang). The texture is just perfect—crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft and chewy on the inside, creating that ideal bite. What makes it even better is the ice cream, which features subtle, not-too-sweet flavors that complement the taiyaki perfectly. Whether you choose classic vanilla or something more adventurous, each scoop is refreshing without overwhelming your taste buds.
I also love their other desserts and drinks, which are equally impressive. The variety of options ensures there’s always something new to try, and each dessert is crafted with care and flavor in mind. The drinks, whether refreshing or indulgent, are a great pairing with any treat.
The combination of the warm, freshly made taiyaki with the smooth ice cream and a refreshing drink creates a unique treat that’s hard to beat. It’s a great option for anyone who loves desserts that are both comforting and satisfying without being overly sugary.
Overall, Cocohodo is a must-try for anyone craving a tasty and well-balanced dessert. The texture of the taiyaki and the ice cream flavors, along with their other desserts and drinks, make it stand out from other dessert spots. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreCame here two times since somi somi gets full, the first time I came its was ok we got our ice cream and left except there was a weird smell to the place, I noticed but I thought maybe it was a one time thing. I came here a second time yesterday because again somi somi was full, right when I entered a putrid smell of restroom hit my face, I couldn’t stand it, while eating my ice cream it’s like I was tasting the smell of restroom which took away the joy of my ice cream till the point I couldn’t taste the actual flavor. The smell was extremely unpleasant I do not recommend eating here if it is a plumbing issue then idk light up a candle or hook up a fan with fabreeze or something, because this is not fair nor sanitary to the customers dinning in or the employees that are on the job. I will not...
