First, I'm saddened to see some of the negative reviews on here. If you are used to or prefer those store-bought cheap naeng-myun, this restaurant will not meet your needs. Unlike the store-bought naeng-myun products, which are full of artificial flavors such as msg and lack quality in many regards, this restaurant takes pride in and puts lots of effort into what they serve and I think they do indeed deserve the recognition and appreciation from their customers. The broth may taste bland to your palate if you are inexperienced with the Korean traditional way of naeng-myun broth, which is not tinted with over powering chemicals. If you can't taste the broth the way you remember from the store bought products is because this restaurant does not use such cheap, less health-conscious ingredients. Real good naeng-myun tastes good without adding any condiments such as mustard or vinegar because the broth has such depth and width in its own flavor; this cannot be mimicked by any artificial chemicals and the delicate flavor notes can be most likelt detected by those who are experienced with good quality food made with care and pride.
I am not affiliated with the restaurant or the owners by any means. I am merely a person who is very happy to have such a good naeng-myun place in the neighborhood finally! I hope this restaurant goes a long way and continue to persever through some initial hardships. If anyone asks for a good naeng-myun place I would recommend this place without...
Read moreWe were looking for something to eat for lunch. We would normally, ALWAYS GO AND EAT, at Too Thai (first on the list y'all lol). So anyway, today I want something Korean. And so, we came across this restaurant. Which is quite new but not really it used to be Kimchi and then something else. We tried and YES, it is NOW ONE OF OUR GO TO KOREAN RESTO! The Korean BBQ ribs were juicy, savory and the meat were really tender! We also got the meat soup, it's a good combo with the ribs and would order it again! The side dishes were also interesting they have this shredded potato more like sauteed in a little bit of oil, not greasy and gives me the vibe of a Korean pancake /hash browns! Then there was this mashed potato/ pumpkin combination, and it's quite appetizing. KIMCHI WAS HEAVEN IN THIS PLACE, I have eaten / tried kimchi anywhere we went Korean but theirs is just the right smack! Let me tell you about the service, the waiter knows what's going on with their menu. LOL. He suggested, described each dish and that really helped us to pick what we want. So, shout out to you sir! (you will be seeing our faces again! Haha). There ambience was soothing, their hanging lamps and tables were simple but yet inviting. I would have LOVED to post the before and after pictures, but we enjoyed our food extremely to the point of not even caring about taking one! LOL NEXT TIME! However, I have a picture of the front of the restaurant. Thank you Naju Myeonok, you made my...
Read moreMy sister and bro in law wanted to take us to their favorite cold noodle place and we were not dissapointed!
It is a self service restaurant so you can choose your own seat, fill up your own water and broth in cups, grab an insulated pitcher for the broth for big groups, and grab your own utensils and to go containers.
The menu was nice because it had a simple 1 page but was in O rings like a power point and had pictures of most of the items! I thought that was nice, especially for anyone who is venturing Korean cuisine.
The food was great and beacuse its self serve, you save some money on tipping since you also put your own tray/plates away on a cart. My wife and I had the bibim naengmyeon and tonkatsu. The table ordered yook jeon and mung bean cakes, both were good and light tasting, which is a theme for this restaurant. The family got spicy brisket stew which had a decent enjoyable spice and the dumpling soup with homemade dumplings!
Everything here was light tasting and I think when family styled, we probably spent a bit over $20 per person and we were all super full and had...
