I’ve been coming to this location for the past two years, transaction are pretty easy in and out situation. Until today, the locations opens at 8 am , arrival time 8:25 walked as usual everything good. Grab a loaf of raisin bread , couple of croissants make my way to the register, asked the lady how long for the croissant 1st red flag she stated she didn’t know and that’s it .. I had to request if she’s able to find like a ETA or something to see if I should stay around well she wasn’t very pleased with my request and puff her way to the manager assuming and he stated 30 minutes .. I’m like yikes 30 minutes for bread like that’s a bit much mind you location opens at 8 am so by this time it was 8:45. I choose to wait which was sooo foolish of me but then again I’m not from the neighborhood, is a 25 minute commute so let’s just say I talked myself into it. The thirty minutes are up I go back and there’s no one on the floor to ask and there’s a line of 10 people, I was determined at this point fully committed. I waited on line, my turn is next I asked another register lady if the croissants were ready she automatically when to the back to check and stated it’ll be ready in 10 to 15 minutes… annoyed but I said thank you when back to the car and once again talked myself into it, if I already invested 25 minutes to commute another 30 minutes to wait what does 10 or 15 minutes would do… walk back this time I gave 5 minutes additionally waited another line and once again same thing but this time for sure 10 minutes. 🙄🙄🙄 Is 10:25 am finally was able to get PLAIN croissant, that’s it for plain croissant no apology no discount no acknowledgment no complementary zero nothing.
MORAL of the story is : Don’t lie to your payingg customers if is going to be 2 hours we’ll say 2 hours and let me decide if I want to stay or not I totally understand if the product is not available but don’t say a time if you’re not sure of it. I don’t what happened today but 2 hours to wait for plain croissants I should’ve just made them at home .. I guess what I’ll be...
Read moreOverall very nice, clean, modern bakery. If you compare Korean bakeries to other Asian bakeries like 85 Degrees, you'll notice their prices are always more expensive, and this bakery by Paris Baguette is no exception. Pricing ranges from $3-6 for any bread, big or small. I did get a coconut cream croissant which was delicious but definitely overpriced. I find it hard to push myself to buy or try more of their breads and pastries when their prices are so high. I mainly came to this bakery to try some cake slices to decide if I'm going to order a full cake from them. I ended up getting the Strawberry Soft Cream Cake, Chocolate Strawberry Cake, and the Blueberry Chiffon Cake. Overall, my favorite one was the strawberry soft cream cake. However, the blueberry Chiffon Cake came in close second. I will say, there is a LOT of competition in the cake/bakery scene in this location. There are at least 3 Asian bakeries nearby. If we're comparing strictly on size and price between the Korean bakeries that are all in the same plaza area, Tous Les Jours is more expensive with smaller cake sizes while Ecclesia is slightly cheaper with the same size cakes. I will say Paris Baguette is very comparable to Ecclesia in my opinion in regards to the cake department, so if you want to save a couple of dollars, you can pick Ecclesia instead. However, I do believe in trying different bakeries or else you'll never know if there's something better out there, so I wouldn't say completely rule Paris Baguette out as an opinion. The cakes from Paris Baguette are nice, light, fluffy, and not overly sweet which I like. I also really like that they use whipped cream instead of buttercream, which I absolutely hate. Their cakes were delicious and something nice to try for a new bakery that I haven't tried before. I might consider ordering a cake from them in the near future...
Read moreVisit this place if you want to be asked to get up and move after a whole hour of being in the same seat, studying.
An employee approached me asking “How many people?” after a full hour that I’ve been studying in the same seat. I then replied it was just me and then he asked me to move to a different seating.
I was initially sitting at a 4 person table because there were ample seatings (30+ open spots), all the other tables were too close to other people’s spaces, and it had an outlet. When the employee approached me, his reasoning was that it was “busy”. All I saw were maybe 6-7 people in the checkout line, but most of them left shortly after purchasing without sitting down. Despite my confusion, I moved to a different seat anyways.
40 minutes later and the seat that I had to give up was still unoccupied despite the store being “busy”, until one gentleman sat down by himself at the exact seating I was at. Did anyone come and ask him to move? No.
I was a paying customer who had every right to choose a seating that I saw fit for my work and level of comfortability.
If the seats were truly filling up and I saw a group who were struggling to find seating, I would’ve moved without anyone asking me. However, with at least 30+ open seatings and two designated booths for 5+ people being open, I am not satisfied by the way I was asked to relocate, move all of my stuff, and the way I was interrupted in an environment that I sought out specifically to study in.
I will not be revisiting this establishment that feels comfortable disregarding their paying customer’s rights to pick a seating freely. If they truly want to start seating customers where THEY see fit, they shouldn’t be an open coffee shop, they should...
