10/10 - Long Review Warning : I was looking for /Craving reasonably priced Birria Tacos, Authentic rice & beans, salsa & chips, & Elote’s . And I happily stumbled upon Leon! I was happy to see it wasn’t far from home. I can’t believe I’m just now trying them. I was starving & hadn’t eaten all day & they really hit the spot! This place is so cute on the inside & the staff is so friendly & helpful. I came in an hour before close & Bella answered all my questions & I asked A Lot lol, she was patient & kind & she recommended the drinks which she let me try to see if I liked them ! She also recommended the churros & Elote‘s, I wound up getting the Elote’s out of the 3, it was Delicious! I have to come back for more because my husband stole & ate it all lol. You get to put your own toppings such as Hot Cheetos or Takis powder on your Elote’s which I really like, the Birria tacos were delicious & stuffed with meat & cheese & I was so delighted to see every thing that they came with not only did they come with raw onions, cilantro, & lime, but also grilled onions & A WHOLE GRILLED JALAPEÑO which I love!! I was so delighted to see the jalapeño because I almost asked for one but I forgot but to my surprise it came with it anyway, which was such a nice touch! I was also happy to see that the beans came with the tacos & I only needed to order the rice extra because I originally planned on paying for a side of beans as well but they already came with the tacos so that was a nice surprise. You also get both red & green sauce as well. Their green sauce is immaculate! & they come in cute little sealed up to go packages with their label on it. The refried beans were super flavorful, the salsa was authentic & delicious , if I could give any constructive criticism it would be the rice could have a little more flavor, It was a little on the dryer side, but still very good. The chips were authentic fried corn tortilla chips, & they were fresh, hot out the grease which I liked but they could have a little less seasoning on them. I felt like I was going to get high blood pressure from the chips lol but again still very good. I was also delighted to see they also have reasonably priced tamales in regular, spicy, vegan! & even dessert flavors! They also have several different flavors of Mexican sodas like apple, strawberry, peach, Mexican coke & Mexican sprite. Honestly, their whole menu looks amazing. There is so much to choose from & I can’t wait to come back & try it all!! Good food & good prices with friendly service! This is definitely my new go to spot! I can't express how amazing my first visit was. Today I went for lunch. Busy Busy, but the nice guy at registration is fast n polite. We got 2 birria meals, a dozen beef tamales half spicy and 2 elotes, 2 drinks. (69.00) got the tamales to go, but ate one with my taco. It's Alot of food. Meal comes with 4 tacos , beans, side of limes, grilled onion n jalapeño, cilantro. Tacos & dipping sauce. 10/10 perfecto. My taste buds were having a party 🥳. Beans, 10/10 the glory in the beans, like mom's beans made yo perfection nothing lacking in taste. I was tempted to order some to take home n tortillas. Yum Tamales 9/10 They were very delicious, great amount of meat, not fatty. Masa not thick. They were a little too done. But wonderful still. Elote 9/10 large portion, seemed really fresh, everything was nice. I could have used a Lil butter or moisture. Still it was great. The sides onions jalapeño so good. I like mine grilled a Lil more, but ohh well I ate it. Service was AMAZING the young guy and young lady were so nice. The guy kept stopping by making sure we, everyone seated was OK and asked if we needed anything. Always had a smile. Would keep tables very clean as people left. I ate at the Richardson location over the weekend and discovered that there was a closer location to me in Carrollton. I decided to try it for takeout for dinner this evening. I ordered the Taco Birria Plate which comes with four tacos, beans, a jalapeno, lime chunks, consomme, and cilantro with chopped white onions. The flavor was good but could have been spicier. The borracho beans didn't have the chunks of meat in it like they served at the Richardson location. I ordered half a dozen spicy beef tamales. They were perfection! My son wanted to try the Trumpo (pork) tacos which are featured on Tuesdays for only 99 cents each. I ordered guacamole as a side. Plenty of packets of red and green salsa were given. Overall, a very satisfying meal with plenty of leftovers for another meal. The prices were reasonable and Victor, the restaurant Manager, was very friendly and had someone help me to get my to-go packages to my car.
