Long-Time Loyal Customer, Deeply Disappointed
I’m not usually one to leave negative reviews, especially for places I’ve loved for years—but after this experience, I feel compelled to share.
I drove all the way from Celina (near Dallas), just to visit this location—a spot that holds a lot of memories for my friends and me from our college days at UNT. We’ve spent plenty of money here ($120+ everytime and tipped well) over the years, and even now in my 30s, I still make the effort to come by when I can. I’ve recommended this place to at least ten people personally and have sung its praises many times on social media. That stops today.
I simply asked to purchase some of their sauce separately—something I’ve done before with no issue. I wasn’t asking for it for free. The manager, however, was incredibly rude and dismissive. When I explained I had bought the sauce on its own in the past and had driven over an hour to get there, she flat-out said, “I can’t help you,” and attempted to show me on the menu where it supposedly says you can’t buy sauce without purchasing seafood. Spoiler: it doesn’t say that anywhere. It literally just says there’s a limit one how MANY you can buy.
She then made the excuse that they’re a franchise, as if that explained her refusal. Funny, because Wingstop is a franchise too—and they’re more than happy to sell you sauce or seasoning à la carte, as long as you’re paying for it.
It wasn’t just the denial—it was the attitude and tone she used. Completely unprofessional and unnecessarily rude. After being a loyal customer for over a decade, this was beyond disappointing. Neither I, nor my family or friends, will be returning. And yes, I will be sharing this experience on my social platforms as well.
Oh—and I ended up making the sauce myself at home. Tasted just as good if not better. So was the attitude really worth...
Read moreI have patronized this establishment since before Covid, but today I was extremely disappointed in the customer service my friend received.
We ordered online, and because they don’t deliver I had to pick up our orders and take them home (Lewisville) .
By the time my friend arrived at my house it was an hour after the order was picked up. Upon opening the bag she noticed half of her order (1/2 lb shrimp) was not there. We called to tell them, and a kind worker by the name of Hannah politely tried to rectify the situation by telling us she could pick up a full pound tomorrow since we had already started eating.
We were happy with the service until they called back within 2 minutes of hanging up. This time it was a man who said his name was Tom. He tried to tell us there was nothing they could do unless we drove back to show them the bag as basically proof that they did not include the shrimp. Wild!
When I asked him to tell us his manager’s name he beat around the bush. I had to ask for his manager’s name 4 times! Finally, he spelled out K.R.I. Before getting off the phone I reminded him about the resolution Hannah suggested to which he agreed to. So it left us wondering, what was the point of the callback and giving us the runaround if you’re just going to agree with what Hannah said in the first place.
Lastly, I also informed him that I would hate to write a review because I patronize them on a regular. His response was verbatim, "Do whatever you have to do", so here it is!!! GROSSLY...
Read morePlenty of parking right by the restaurant, but it also seems to get fairly busy as there are a lot of good restaurants, shops and a 99 ranch there.
Tables are kind of spaced apart and staff wore masks.
You can choose seafood boil combo or do individual by the pound. There are several different sauces and spicy level to choose from.
Cajun fries: fresh and hot. Perfect to munch on while waiting for the rest of the food and pairing with the cold beer bucket.
Coconut sea snail: you can definitely taste the coconut and the sauce is really good. It is kind of hard to suck out the snail, would have preferred if they provided toothpicks.
Garlic noodles: not too buttery and just the right amount of garlic. Pairs perfect with the spicy seafood boil.
Oysters: I’m not a big oyster eater, but from what I could tell it tasted fresh and the oyster was big.
Seafood boil: we had mussels, shrimp (head on) and crawfish. When you order the combo, it comes with corn, potatoes and sausage. We opted for the kicking style and spicy. It definitely has a kick - but very enjoyable and making you want more…which lead us in ordering another pound of crawfish. The crawfish were all kinda small though.
The non spicy seafood was still nicely flavored (garlic lemon), we did add sausage which unfortunately was still spicy. So if you don’t eat any spicy I would skip the sausage.
Overall a solid place to enjoy seafood while...
