Five stars don’t even come close to describing how good Somisomi is. This is hands down the BEST soft serve I’ve ever had in my life. Every bite is pure magic—creamy, smooth, and packed with flavor in a way that feels like it’s straight out of a dream. I got the ube and milk twist in a taiyaki cone, and I still think about it like it was a core memory. And don’t even get me started on their strawberry milk. I’ve had strawberry milk in Japan, Korea, you name it—but this one? This is the one. Fresh, perfectly sweet, and refreshingly cold with real strawberry flavor, not some artificial syrup nonsense.

The taiyaki is crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside, and absolutely addictive. You get to pick your filling (I always go for Nutella), and it complements the soft serve perfectly. It’s the kind of combo that makes you question why you ever settled for basic cones anywhere else.

The staff here are super friendly and efficient even when the line gets long—and trust me, it usually does. But the wait is always worth it. The store is clean, bright, and smells like heaven.

After a long week we decided to visit a place that is famous for serving fish & ice cream I repeat Fish & Ice cream not Fish & chips! Somi somi is a Korean ice cream place which is newly opened in Carrollton! They have some very unique flavors like ube, sesame, milk, milk tea, matcha.. and they rotate flavors weekly to give everyone a taste of something new!! We had oreo soft serve with upside down taiyaki - which is a waffle shaped like a fish with the choice of your filling!! Being chocolate lovers, we got nutella filling, but they also have cheddar, custards, red bean paste fillings.. Also, you could add a variety of toppings including fruity pebbles, nuts, oreo crumbs, choco pebbles.. and also choose between a strawberry or a macaron.. The ice cream was refreshing but the best part was having the taiyaki!! It was freshly made and tasted amazing!! A must try for all ice cream lovers!! This has been a must-stop for me for 3 years now, and I don't think my opinion will ever change. I absolutely love all of their soft-serve flavors. There are always 6 flavors every time so you can be sure to find something you like. They have fruity and milk flavors, and everything is so good. My favorite is their milk tea flavor because it's light and fits perfectly with my red bean taiyaki.

I highly recommend getting their upside-down ah-bong. It's a cup of soft serve, with a fish taiyaki at the top. It's perfect if you don't want to deal with messes, especially in the Texas heat. The lines are always packed whenever we stop by, but it moves pretty fast. Their taiyaki are always crispy and hot, even when I take a box home. They have two locations in Dallas and Frisco, but I hope they'll expand to Plano...
