Blue Bull — Restaurant in Carson City

This place, without provocation, refused drinks to my husband. My husband visited this establishment for the second time, first time no issues, and was approached by (what can only be explained as) the local woman who always attends the bar. After refusing her many advances (which included purchasing flight of shots and attempting to have him purchase it for and her partner), the bar tender said he wasn’t serving him drink. Low and behold, she and he were at the end of the bar. If this bar plays into small town politics like it did this evening (local woman who often visit this establishment enough to get her way constantly), run. Don’t visit this place. There is NO reason to refuse my husband the opportunity for a drink, based on a woman who can’t get her act together. We are new locals, we have connections, and we plan on alerting who we know, of how this establishment and bar tender acted. Fun dive bar in Carson City. I enjoyed some nice pours of Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey at a reasonable price, and met some nice folks. The fact that The Blue Bull had Blanton's was an extremely pleasant surprise. If you know Bourbon, the secondary markets charge a major premium on most Buffalo Trace Distillery products like Blanton's due to allocation restrictions. The Blue Bull charging a decent price but not gouging is a sign that the owner values his patrons. I will stop there when I'm in Carson City. I rarely go out to bars, and I was really looking forward to enjoy my time with my boyfriend and his friend. However, from a third person perspective, the attitude from the owner and how she addressed my boyfriend and his friend really threw me off. As a potential customer, I would have put some money into this business, bought a couple of drinks for myself too, while my boyfriend and his friend talk and enjoy their time.
