Stopped in here for a bite to eat because I'm trying to find a favorite local sushi spot since I'm new in town.
Outside looked a bit rundown with an ugly paint job and some trash and alcohol bottles outside. Once inside, I was greeted by a friendly sushi chef, and a clean interior.
I ordered a miso soup, which was only OK, which is disappointing because I LOVE miso soup.
I had the crazy monkey roll (inside: cream cheese, jalapeno, crab mix; outside: salmon, avacado, Sriracha, mayo, tempura onion, sesame seeds and green onion). Beautiful presentation, and tasty with good amount of heat. Just the right amount of jalepeno, but a bit heavy on the mixed crab and lean on the cream cheese.
I also ordered the oishi roll. Presentation was alright (Baked roll - inside: cream cheese, crab mix, salmon; oustide: salmon, and what I think was spicy mayo, maybe chili powder, sesame seeds, and green onion. Different heat from the other roll due to the sauce or chili powder that was used, can't seem to see the avacado the menu says was supposed to come in the roll, but it had a better cream cheese to crab mix ratio.
The waitress wasn't very friendly, she wasn't rude or anything, just didn't seem like she cared to be a waitress in general.
Overall the rolls were tasty, not out of this world, but worth a try.
The main reasons that they lost stars were the outside doesn't look well maintained or clean and the service was lacking.
I noticed another review mention that the rolls here kinda had similar tastes, and I wanted to add that I...
Read moreNothing to complain about here. Finding sushi that is high quality, fresh, and delicious is hard in this economy, we get it. Oishi you did not disappoint!! For all you can eat you get your money worth with the full menu including appetizers!! (And if you're a sake fan ,$2 more, you can get all you can drink sake, if you're 21+ w/ AYCE) Me and my husband stopped by after running errands and im sooooo glad we did. ✨️Must try appetizers: baked mussels, crab balls, Donald Duck , Mickey Mouse, miso soup, edamame & the tempura calamari. I ordered some of the rolls others reviewed about on here and they also know flavor. TIGER ROLL, FIREWORK , STREET FIGHTER, SMOKED SALMON & YELLOWTAIL NIGIRI. (Ask about the salmon skin wrap. I dont remember the name but if your a salmon fan try it) Full roll are 10 pieces , keep in mind.
The lightness but richness blend of flavors explode in your mouth. My husband ordered the huckleberry ice cream and became my new favorite flavor. Im more of a green tea girl but if you want something a little more sweet and light give it a try. I had the strawberry mochi , never dissapointing(: We felt so guilty leaving since our daughters are huge sushi fand. We will definitely be back with...
Read moreGood service, fresh fish and a good price for AYCE. As with other AYCE sushi restaurants they don't do sashimi on AYCE, so get ready to eat your rice.
Appetizers are very tasty. The seaweed salad is a bit on the sweet side but still yummy, the mussels are tasty with just a bit of spicy, the crab balls are delicious and my favorite, you rarely go wrong with potstickers, and the seafood Yakiton was a fave with the whole family.
As for the sushi, for me I'm a fan of the unlimited nigiri sushi and could sit there for the whole 2 hour time limit just eating nigiri, but the family really enjoyed the oishi roll and the M3 was a resounding fave. The deep fried roll selections were a bit heavy, specifically the King Kong, but the sparks and jasmine rolls were very good.
They don't really have a big selection of sake, just a few fruit infused selections from Oregon and Gekkikan, so no Junmai sakes, but the table enjoyed a few small bottles of the pear sake.
Although I wouldn't give it a "must try" or a "the best I've ever had" it was an overall good experience and a nice clean atmosphere and very attentive and...
