Coco's Taqueria y Pupuseria — Restaurant in Carson City

They sure were busy, despite the rain storm! That's a great sign!

The Chile Verde I ordered was decent, but I do have a few quibbles:

I asked for no cheese, this was disregarded by the kitchen staff. (So I didn't have hardly any of the refried beans, but thankfully that was all they sprinkled cheese on.)

The way the food was packaged led to an awful mess in the bag, but that's par for the course when most restaurants use Styrofoam boxes. Nothing wrong with that. But I think that they could probably benefit from using Chinese food cartons instead for dishes like Chile Verde, plastic containers and keep using styrofoam for the beans and rice, since they're dry and don't make much of a mess.

Those two things aside, the flavor of the meal was satisfying. It was swiftly prepared. They're certainly streamlined for drive through orders. That's great!

I've eaten at this place at least 3 times a week since I moved back in the Carson area. Its definitely not bad food I would say its decent food consistently. I ordered food a few weeks ago and got home "the other side of Moundhouse " and realized they didn't give me the right order. I called to let the know they had made a mistake. They wanted me to drive back and exchange the order. Considering I had been on the road driving for 10 hours I didn't feel like leaving again. I didn't even eat half the order I was given. I go down there the next day and they won't make their mistake right. They said because the order they gave me was 5$ more and I didn't want to drive back that they were not going to fix their mistake. Congratulations you just lost a great customer! We are from San Jose CA and we visit this place for the first time in 2018 while in vacation, it's a small place so we didn't think it will be so delicious. First time we tried the pupusas only, good size and very tasty for the price. Good service and I liked they have a bar for salsas and toppings available. Second time was this year, we had to stop on our way to Nevada city and this time we had pupusas, menudo and the fried yuca with pork that was so good😋.
