First and last time… We arrived and checked in with the hostess (2) of us. (Approximately 8 or 9 empty tables) There were two other couples as well waiting, they were seated then a party of five walked in and were i, immediately seated and the waitress looked at us and said “they have 5” (didn’t ask but thanks for pointing that out and that we don’t matter). Finally got seated, looked at the menu and our waitress came to take our order. Not only did I say what I wanted but I was pointing at the item on the menu. The food came out in a timely manner however mine was not even what I asked for. I addressed the waitress and she stated that she was not really paying attention when I ordered and she implied it was my fault for her mistake. She walked away then came back a few minutes later(seemed like she hoped I would just start eating it) she took the incorrect order and stated “an 18 top just ordered so yours will be a while” a few minutes later I flagged down another waitress and asked her to inform our waitress not to bother because my friend would be done with their food or it theirs would be cold by the time my second attempt would have come out. A few minutes later our waitress came by dropped off the bill that she had only taken my food off and with not even an apology for her incompetence walked away and never came back to our table while my friend finished eating(apparently she was done with us…) final chapter of this saga go to pay, one of the girls was ringing another customer out and upon finishing that transaction she simply walked away leaving us standing there for nearly 5 mins while she and the original hostess try to solve the mystery of how to wrap another customers togo in foil for them. The hostess finally came back to the front took the bill and my card never asking how the food or the service (and I use that loosely) were. I inquired about the service we had received and her response was “I don’t even know what to say!” and then she stood their with a blank stare… As I started out, first time and certainly last time I will waste my time and this establishment, not sure if there is actually any kind of management over seeing this place, doesn’t seem like it, just a good cash flow for someone! Footnote- T.I.P.S. To insure proper service. I paid the bill but rest assured there was...
Read moreHeidi's Restaurant in Carson City is a must-visit for anyone craving a classic, comforting breakfast.
This family-friendly establishment has earned a reputation for its generous portions, friendly service, and, most importantly, its outstanding food. During my recent visit, I opted for their renowned Eggs Benedict and a side of waffles, paired with a rich hot chocolate. Let me tell you, it was the perfect start to my day!
The Eggs Benedict were amazing. The perfectly poached eggs sat atop a thick slice of Canadian bacon, all nestled on a toasted English muffin. The hollandaise sauce was the star of the show – creamy, tangy, and with just the right amount of lemon. It drizzled generously over the eggs, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate.
The waffles were equally impressive. Golden brown and fluffy, they had a delightful crispness on the outside while remaining soft and airy on the inside. A dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of syrup added the perfect touch of sweetness.
And let's not forget the hot chocolate! It was the ideal companion to the hearty breakfast – warm, chocolatey, and topped with a cloud of marshmallows. Beyond the food, the service at Heidi's was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and always ready with a smile. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making me feel right at home.
If you find yourself in Carson City, do yourself a favor and head to Heidi's Restaurant. Whether you're in the mood for Eggs Benedict, waffles, or any other breakfast favorite, you won't be disappointed. Just be sure to...
Read moreThis business has changed ownership. After the ownership changed so did the menu. Any reviews more than 2 years old should be ignored as they are no longer relevant.
It used to be a great little diner, now it's a resraurant I dont recognize, flavor-wise. The simplest way to explain it is imagine going to In-N-Out, only to find out a double double only has cheese on it and you can't order the other items to make it taste how it used to.
That's how Heidi's is now. The food has been simplified to where it just isn't worth the calories or the price. It's like someone buying a pre-established business on amazon to use the reviews and name to their advantage.
I paid nearly $50 for breakfast for 2, whereas I used to be able to get breakfast for 3 for under $50 (including a 20-25% tip). No one in my party was satisfied with their meal or drinks. The portions sizes were good but the food and drinks were just mediocre.
The servers were friendly and the service was prompt, but that's not enough to make me want to go back. The restaurant was noticeably more empty than all my previous visits over the past 10 years, I suspect others are feeling the same way.
Sadly l will be looking for a new go-to...
