I’m not one to typically bash a person for not being cheerful but this is the second time in a week that I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with Ann. I work in retail and manage a store by myself. Rule number 1: NEVER make the customer feel like they’re inconveniencing you.
Ann has failed at this. The first time I interacted with her, I walked in while she was in the middle of complaining about the equipment to another employee. When I approached the counter she didn’t say hello, engage with me in any way other than to take my order in a very precise, short, military like fashion. I’ve sat in snow that was warmer than that interaction. I chalked it up to her having a bad day and continued to be pleasant to her even though I did not receive the same courtesy in return. I even wished her a happy New Year as I was leaving. She mumbled something unintelligible and I went on with my day.
Today I went in to get a smoothie and a sandwich for later as I am at work alone and didn’t bring lunch. The entire cafe was empty except for her. She was walking to the back as I walked in and when she turned around, she rolled her eyes. I began my order and when I went to order my sandwich, she immediately cut me off and told me she was just doing the smoothie bar because she was by herself. That’s not the problem….although….kinda ridiculous….but the way in which she cut me off and told me no as if she was my mother and I was nagging her for candy, was wholly unprofessional and unacceptable.
If she doesn’t like her job, she should get a new one. But from one retail worker to another, you really have no business in customer service. I’ll be going literally anywhere else from now on. I hate coming in and spending my money and it’s deemed an inconvenience to the person behind...
Read moreThis place has gone downhill. I ordered my go-to, the hummus veggie wrap. It was sloppily prepared, missing some of the ingredients, and the rice was not cooked. I threw it away, then walked to the counter to complain to one of the employees. I had to ask someone to come out from the back. I explained the situation and the employee looked as though he didn’t know how to handle a customer complaint. I had to ask for my money back, which he refunded. But I had to ask, even after explaining how bad the wrap was. I used to like TSC, but I can make better food, cheaper, at home.
To the person at TSC who replies to negative reviews, please spare me the canned apology, disingenuous disappointment about having failed to meet my and your expectations, etc. And don’t ask me to go to the added effort of supplying more information about my experience via another link. You have record of my experience here. It looks like TSC was bought by a private equity firm in late 2020 and we all know what that means—maximize profit while wringing out every conceivable cost. I guess this explains why this store is understaffed and the food quality has...
Read moreI had a pretty disappointing experience at this Tropical Smoothie location. I arrived around 7:40 AM and walked up to the counter, but there was no greeting or acknowledgment at all. The older staff member told me I couldn’t place an order with her and would have to use the app due to an issue with her register. That was fine—I’ve used the app before with no problem.
After placing my order, I noticed she wasn’t busy, so I sat and waited. By 7:58 AM, there was still no word. The app never notified me that my smoothie was ready, and she never said anything either—just quietly placed it on the mobile pickup shelf without even a glance in my direction.
If she was able to tell me I had to order through the app, I don’t understand why she couldn’t simply let me know when my order was ready. She seemed uninterested and disengaged, which made the whole experience feel cold and unwelcoming.
It’s unfortunate, because this is the only smoothie place in town that opens this early. I expected at least a basic level of customer service, but this visit definitely...
