Beijing Cafe in Cary, NC, is one of those rare places that instantly feels like a warm welcome.
Tucked into a quiet strip-mall section of town, this unassuming eatery is owned and lovingly run by a husband-and-wife team whose dedication to their craft is felt in every bite.
The couple behind Beijing Cafe - Chef Ping and his wife Lily - bring with them the spirit and flavors of their hometown in northern China. There’s a deep-rooted authenticity in their dishes that comes from generations of culinary tradition.
After moving to the U.S., they dreamed of opening a small restaurant where they could share their food and culture with their new community. Beijing Cafe is that dream realized.
The food here is clean, simple, and absolutely delicious. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared—flavors are never overcomplicated or greasy, but instead beautifully balanced and fresh.
Whether it’s their handmade dumplings, savory noodle dishes, or lightly crisped scallion pancakes, each offering feels like a homemade meal crafted with care. There’s a comforting honesty to the food that’s rare and refreshing.
It’s super casual - just order from a kiosk, then grab a seat and wait for your fresh food to appear!
What truly sets Beijing Cafe apart is the personal touch. The owners are always there, cooking in the kitchen and greeting guests with a quiet kindness. It’s not flashy or showy—just genuine hospitality and soul-satisfying food.

Read moreMy Asian girlfriend asked me to join her for dinner at this newly open Chinese eatery. I am picky eating Chinese food due to MSG, overly salted taste and oily dishes. What an amazing culinary experience. Pong has been a Chinese chef for over 20 years, he is a native of Northern China, he carefullyy prepares his own dough for dumplings and Pork buns which require at least 48 hours before preparing his dishes. Lily discribed the peparation as "Sweet Dream" dough prepartation. The dumpliings and pork buns were meticuously hand crafted by Pong to appear as an oriental flower, NO MSG only top shelf oriental seasoning and sauces are used. The Bok Choy was prepared to perfection lightly oiled, tasty, and presented with a slight crisp. The sautee eggplant with minced pork is a must try. The servings were hearty and priced reasonably and affordable. . The best Chinese food I had ever eaten. This is a must place to visit if you are seeking authentic and healthy Chinese Cuisine reasonably priced. They do take outs as well. Most certainly would be spreading the word to friends and acquaintances. Great job...
Read moreWent here right around 11am for an early lunch with the family, greeted warmly by the couple that runs the place (even gave our kids a little light up cup gift). The fried chives pancakes was very good - crispy outside with fragrant herbal insides. The soup dumplings were nice but not spectacular - the dough was very thin which was impressive, but made it very difficult to pick them up without breaking the skin and spilling the juices. The eggplant/pork mince dish was salty and flavorful. The egg/tomato noodle dish was a little disappointing - the handmade noodles I found to be overly thick, but at least the sauce was pleasant and mild. I would come back here again but wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to do it, I would stick with some of the other nearby options like Chengdu...
