So was in the mood for tacos but wanted to try out a new place and came across La Victoria... and man oh man I'm glad I checked it out ..
Hidden in the smaller Renaissance Park Place complex where Ko an and Burgerfi is you will find La Victoria ..
Place is about 2 months old and found out it's owner is related to the family who created Totopos over on Kildaire in Cary..
La Victoria is owned by Maria who you will find working at the front of the house at La Victoria.
She always stops by and checks in on how your meal and experience is ...
I sat at the bar and got to talk to Gabriel and Carlos ... and both were cool to talk to and gave great recommendations.
So started off with the dip sampler and was not disappointed at all ... the chipotle bean dip was awesome and the freshly made guacamole was the best I've had in the area so far... and to round out the trio was the thick not water queso dip which was very good .
The chips here are fresh and also very good .. light and crispy and has a nice flavor to them ..
One of the reasons why I picked this place to try was because they had birria tacos and man oh man I was surprised how flavorful and good it was especially the consume which is one of the better ones in the area that I've had ... wish they still offered the lamb version but since local taste buds aren't adventurous enough to have the authentic version they had to take it off the menu :-(
But the beef version was good and only can imagine how the trading lamb version wouldve been like.. the fresh corn tortillas that were used for the taco shell was amazing .. definitely not your average tortillas shell.
Also had a chance to taste the Mango Chicken Tacos which were served with a chipotle mango sauce and damn was it tasty... the chicken was flavorful and delicious.
To round out the meal the guava flan was ordered and damn oh damn was it good... it's not your typical flan that you find anywhere else..
The guava definitely comes out and is subtle and was creamy and not overly sweet ... definitely a must try ..
I will definitely be back to try the rest...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at La Victoria Mexican Food in Cary, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The food, service, and overall atmosphere left a lasting impression on me and my party.
First and foremost, I would like to highlight our server, Patty. She was an absolute gem throughout our visit. Patty's extensive knowledge of the menu and her passion for the cuisine were evident from the moment she greeted us. Not only did she provide top-notch service, but she also went above and beyond to ensure our table had a memorable dining experience. Her professionalism and warm demeanor truly added to our enjoyment of the meal.
Now, let's talk about the food! We ordered the tiras de pollo, and it was nothing short of exquisite. The chicken strips were cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, and the accompanying spices and seasonings elevated the dish to new heights. The barbacoa birria tacos were equally impressive. The succulent meat, combined with the traditional flavors, made each bite a mouthwatering delight. These dishes alone are reason enough to visit La Victoria Mexican Food.
To start off our meal, we were served with chips and salsa. The chips were crispy and addictive, and the salsa had a perfect balance of flavors. It was a delightful appetizer that set the tone for the culinary journey that awaited us.
To accompany our meal, we tried La Sofia, the mango tequila drink, and it was an absolute winner! The combination of mango and tequila was refreshing and perfectly complemented the flavors of our food. It was a definite highlight and added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.
Overall, La Victoria Mexican Food exceeded my expectations. From the friendly and knowledgeable service provided by Patty to the exquisite tiras de pollo, succulent barbacoa birria tacos, and delightful chips and salsa, every aspect of our visit was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving authentic and mouthwatering Mexican cuisine in Cary. Thank you, La Victoria, for an unforgettable...

I ordered ceviche knowing that it was fish. I was unaware that it was raw fish cured in lime juice. Nor did I know that it would arrive at my table basically sitting in what amounts to a small cup of soup worth of lime juice. That is a lot of acid and, for me, with reflux this is a major concern. The part of the fish not " swimming" in lime juice was quite tasty but still too acidic. Since there may be other patrons who may be unaware of ceviche....it would be helpful to ensure that all staff can clearly communicate that ceviche is RAW fish in a LOT of lime juice - well beyond a splash, so the dish is VERY acidic.
Your staff should be aware that eating foods high in acid can cause pain for some individuals. Citric juices, such as lime juice, increase the production of gastric acid, the digestive enzyme responsible for breaking down food in the stomach.
Perhaps you could offer a cooked version of fish (not shrimp) with a wedge of lime on the side?
The other concern was that the ceviche comes with a hard taco. For some individuals, this can be a choking hazard. I specifically ordered a soft corn taco. The soft corn taco arrived with a serving of hard tacos ( why??) despite my request and a statement from staff that next time I will receive hard tacos anyway. I do not...
