We lived an hour away, but my wife loves hotpot and she likes the flavoring here. So, I have been driving her here since they first open until now. Our experience today was very unpleasant and we will never be back. We always tips when we ate here. But, tips are based on services. Their food is good but their services had always been terrible. Once they brought our food out they are nowhere to be found. Which is fine, because we grow up eating hotpot, we can take care of ourselves. I tips because of the Hispanic worker in the back who brings food and does all the clean up, but server do not deserves tips at all. All the server did is bring water and take our order. Today is same as usual, we ordered our food no refill of our water or refill of our soup base. So, I left 15% in cash for the clean up crew. The server who sat us, who does not serve us (she is Asian who’s always at the front seating people, she been working here for couple of years now, I don’t know if she’s the manager or the owner family member?) she flag down my wife and asked that we tips at least 20% because this $$$ will be split among her and cleaning crew? My wife was shock and dumb founded and gave her extra cash, so for 2 people she pocketed $21 cash for doing nothing. I had been dining at this place for years now, they increased the prices every year. As an Asian American we know the prices of each of these items it’s nowhere near the cost that are being charged they are pocketing a good amount of profits. We are fine with it because every restaurant needs to profits and increases their profit. As consumers we can choose to paid at that price or not. But, if you’re raising prices and still expect customers to paid your high prices along with your employee salary then you’re asking too much. Especially, when your staff does nothing. Restaurant need to be responsible for their employees income and tips is extra for excellence services not to substitute their income. Also, telling your employee to chased your customer to ask for more tips money is ridiculous. This had never happen in any restaurant establishment that I had been too. This will be the first and last. This place is overcharging, while asking customers to paid for their employee salary. I am not the only customer who had voice this issue. They have been receiving multiple negative reviews over this same matters. So, they are asking customers to give five star for free drinks to bring their reviews up. This is very unethical and unprofessional!!!! Do not waste your time, there are tons of hotpot places that need...

Read moreWas visiting North Carolina for a weekend trip and found ourselves craving hot pot. This place had some pretty good reviews and man did the food live up to the expectation!
The sauce bar is pretty extensive with fresh ingredients, a variety of sauces and oils. Really brings out the potion making skills in you.
First, we chose our pot size of Yin-Yang where you get to pick two soup flavors. Next, we chose our broth flavors and spice levels of the Beef Tallow Mala at Medium Spice Level and Chicken Stock with Mushrooms. After, we chose the cooked and uncooked items to put into our hot pot. We chose: braised beef, tripe, quail eggs, pork belly, enoki mushroom, prime beef, tenderloin, beef meatballs, fish balls, tofu, napa cabbage, watercress, winter melon, and corn. Picking the noodles is one of my favorite parts; I chose glass vermicelli, green bean vermicelli, and udon.
BEEF TALLOW MALA Satisfying mala flavor, some places have a mild mala, but this was perfect, not too oily and the beef tallow was fresh, there wasn’t any weird taste to it which can happen if it isn’t fresh.
CHICKEN STOCK WITH MUSHROOMS Such an underrated soup, truly would drink this on its own. A perfect break from the spicy mala and really flavorful for such simple ingredients.
Everything came out reasonably fast for a place that was pretty packed. The staff were so friendly and attentive, it was a great place for a party of six. All the meat was prepared fresh and presented beautifully. This is one of my first reviews where my photos really don’t show everything I ordered and enjoyed. I definitely ate before the camera for one of the few times in my life. Everything was just soooo delicious and I really just dove right in haha. Highly recommend coming here if you want to try a good hot pot place or if you just want some bomb hot pot....
