This is a problem with corporate more than this specific store. However, my server had no helpful suggestions nor did she get a manager to help figure anything out. Very disappointing. I have specific nutrition requirements so of course I planned my meal from the nutrition information online before going into the restaurant. I was told they changed the menu but not the online information so what I planned to order was not available. There was nothing I could order that met my nutritional requirements so I had to sit with no food while my family ate. I was not pleased. The waitress said the menu was changed due to Covid. It's 2023, restaurants re-opened 3.5 years ago in Iowa. I think it's absurd that they haven't, in all that time, gotten around to changing the online nutritional information to reflect what is actually being served, or gone back to the full menu. Ruined my evening as I was hungry but had to sit 90 minutes while my family ate, then go home to eat. That shouldn't happen. Unfortunately everything on the current menu is loaded with insane amounts of calories & fats which make it unsuitable for me (and many others). Its also missing a ton of information. If the online menu had been current, I would not have gone to that restaurant so I feel like it was trickery that brought me in the door. I'm so, so displeased and disappointed in Carlos O Kelly's. I did fill out an online complaint. I missed the call this morning...

The server that I had was very delightful and always made sure that all drinks, salsa, and chips were filled which provided an excellent experience in the beginning. Unfortunately customer service is half of what makes a restaurant experience, and the chicken fajita proved that this restaurant initially won the battle, but inevitably lost the war. The ratio of chicken to vegetables was very skewed and while it was tasty there was hardly any vegetables so it felt as though I was eating a chicken wrap with lettuce. There also must have been a sale on children's tortillas because I had to order extra due to only being able to fit around 2 chicken strips before it was overfilled. The food has flavor, but the lack luster presentation proved that this restaurant is just another franchise in a sea of cut corners and...

Will never eat there again! Last time was in 2007/2008 and swore to never go again because of the food and having my meal come to the table 10-15 minutes before my moms did. Decided to give it another shot yesterday because that was one of the only places open Sunday at the time near by. The steak street tacos were AWFUL! I don’t know what they call that grey “meat” they have on those stale flour shells but it didn’t taste like meat. Daughter said her chimichanga was ok but then we ordered dessert thinking they can’t mess that up.. we’ll guess what? We ordered the tiramisu inspired cheese cake. Looked great on the photo, came out looking nothing like it and tasted horrible. $40 worth of disappointment. No more! Next time I’ll just do the extra driving and go to Chilitos where they know...

I’m more of a taco truck, six pack of beer, picnic table in a park kind of person. An “inspired” Iowa-Mex-Irish via Texas menu is perfect for this mall parking lot location. For me it’s as if Taco Bell hooked up with Taco John’s then moved to 1984 and started serving food. A place where you take a kid whose afraid to try Mexican food or the grandparents who’s taste buds have see better days. I came for the happy hour which in the racket of the Margarita world isn’t to bad. Half price Margaritas with complimentary chips and salsa. The good service, friendly staff and nice people watching make this a decent stop for a Margarita happy hour from time to time. Enjoy!

Walked in with a group of 5, sat there for 20 minuets and promptly got up and left. At this point you may wonder why! Well, we sat there and looked at the drink menu and food, and were ready to order within 5 minuets of sitting down. Well, sadly for us we just seemed to be invisible to everyone who worked there, and were ignored the entire time we were there. We left and went to Amigos and had a great meal and service there. The restaurant was maybe half full the entire time we were there.

The food was just ok. The service was just ok. I spent over 100 dollars for my family of 4 and not that it is uncommon to spend that much, for what we got and there inability to make a decent meal, I will not go there again. I would suggest finding an authentic family run Mexican place to eat because Carlos O'Kell's has lost it.
