Deringer's Public Parlor — Restaurant in Cedar Falls

They have a nice dance floor but it definitely attracts a certain crowd (the dress em up cowboys who've never seen dirt. The music is always so loud it's easier to hear your friends with earplugs in and it's the same same songs every week. Drinks are overpriced compared to the neighboring establishments. That said it does have a lot of space and there are nice pool tables in the back. Not at all impressed. No room to dance on the "dance floor" people just stand and try to yell over each other. People that are leaving will just randomly leave their empty or full drinks on the table that someone else is sitting at. Definitely know there were kids in the bar underage, and drinking. I thought I would hate Deringer's based on it's country appeal alone. Come to find out it's very clean and well decorated. Lots of tables to sit at and plenty of pool tables. My only gripe is the music is sometimes too loud to have a conversation and the lack of lounge seating. I miss when VooDoo used to be a lounge and you could come up and enjoy drinks and conversation in a cool relaxing atmosphere.
