First, this is not a review about the food. The quality of the food is always great in any town I visit. Flavor and consistency are on point. This is a review of the slow motion employees at the Cedar Falls store. The franchise owners need to look at the cameras and provide some training. Now, I get it, help is hard to come by these days.
This is the second time my order was wrong in CF. My order is not hard or complicated in any way. #5, Mike's Way, pepper relish. That's it.
I don't think the employees could move slower. It was like their hands and feet were anchored in concrete. I have never seen the slicer and the sandwich maker move so slow. Even the guy that was wrapping and bagging the sandwich was moving slower than -30 degree F hot honey. Y'all need to get some "freaky fast" ASAP. There were 5 people in line, 3 people in front of me and I stood there for at least 15 minutes before someone came to take my order. I just about left but really wanted a Super Sub. Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, but our experience at Jersey Mike’s was frustrating enough to warrant one. When we walked in, there was only one person ahead of us—should’ve been quick, right? Wrong. Eighteen minutes later, we had one sub and absolutely no sign of my daughter’s. No clue why they take your order on a slip and then walk it over to the front like a game of telephone. Spoiler: it doesn’t work. They completely forgot about our second sandwich, even as customers who arrived after us were being served.
I finally went up to ask, and the employee at the register was literally crumpling the bag that had our second sub written on it—like they were just tossing it out. No offer for a refund, just a quick “we’ll make it on the back line.” Meanwhile, several employees were standing around doing nothing. For how few customers were in the store and how many staff were present, the wait was ridiculous.
Twenty minutes for two subs and $25 later, I can confidently say: next time, we’re...

The staff were very friendly! I’m surprised to see people say the manager is rude because he was kind when I was there.
I do feel a bit bad giving this place 3/5 stars overall. The woman who was dressing the subs misheard me when I asked for “just lettuce” on my sub, and she made my sub Mike’s way - which it’s alright, it was very noisy due to the heavy business, and I’m happy to try new things - but she was wayyy too heavy-handed with the red wine vinegar and olive oil! I got through 3/4 of my sub (which was good) and decided to throw the rest away because it was sooo soggy and gross. My mom planned to save half of her sub (which was also done Mike’s way) to eat for lunch the next day but tossed it out because hers was soggy by then as well.
