I don’t even want to give one star. Great experience at the start. Front cashier/counter girl was super awesome, zero issues with my service dog (as 99.9% businesses/establishments don’t have issues). She even carefully walked around him while dropping our food off and was incredibly friendly to us). Then I was kicked out by the bartender because of my service dog. I tried to calmly explain to the man (bartender, African American) that it’s against the law to kick out service animals and especially people for having a service animal, and they need to look in to their laws, yet he proudly smiled and announced “yeah okay, I understand, but we don’t allow any dogs” .. yeah, he clearly doesn’t understand. I repeated that “he’s a service dog.” and he said “yeah, we don’t allow those either, not service dogs, no dogs at all.” I tried to explain that it’s against the law to not allow service animals and that it’s no different than telling me I can’t come in because I have a wheelchair or take medication (as simple of examples as I can possibly give for someone this untrained and uneducated regarding service dog rights) and this man still laughed and said again, “I understand but we don’t allow service dogs or any dogs,” then stood there waiting for us to get up and leave. He wasn’t even going to bother calling a supervisor or asking someone for confirmation on his choice? This is discrimination. I’m appalled by the lack of basic knowledge here. He tops that off by smiling saying, “he appreciates us and to have a great day” while he watched us get up and leave.. what a joke. It’s absurd the lack of training here and the condescending way he went about this not even listening as I tried to give fair warning it’s illegal. I have plenty of options to defend my rights here.. but first and foremost, somebody needs to retrain this guy. He should realize how silly that display of pure ignorance was and how embarrassing it is for the person with a disability to get kicked out in front of everyone. I’m not sure how many times a person has to state ‘it’s illegal’ to him to get him to understand that I’m just trying to educate YOU because some serious repercussions can come from you standing your ground on discriminating like this right now. He still didn’t care, still didn’t what to hear what...
Read moreNo, I STILL don't go here. If their employees don't know how to handle simple CASH transactions, the managers (mismanagers?) need to train them!
Overpriced mediocre food. Parking lot surrounds the area, atmosphere ruined. Nope. Not coming here. So many other places to go.
Don't come here! No cash accepted. Dog Haus literally does not want your cash. Seriously. Prices have jumped! Lunchtime and the place was empty. More workers than customers. Why? A few reasons possible: they do NOT accept cash! Yes gen Z and others use credit cards to buy a $1.50 candy, but responsible Boomers like me know that good financial practice is to not use credit cards for pocket change purchases. At the end of the month, I have only a handful of transactions to check on my cc statement. Cash is the best option for a simple lunch. Here, nope! Another reason, a hot dog for $12? You're kidding, right? Sadly no. And a beer, ONE beer, for $15? ...maybe I do need to use my cc! A couple of people and a couple of beers and food and you're looking at $60-65, easy! Add a shake or dessert each, now $80? $85? My A-HA moment: now I see why this place is empty.
I simply walked across the parking lot to King and Cardinal. They DO accept my cash-cash happily! I had a grilled lamb sandwich with a specialty beer for only $13 total! And it was delicious! Will I be back to Dog Haus? No. Sadly no. Their prices are tooo high and they do NOT accept cold hard cash. This is honestly difficult for me to process. I'm thankful for businesses that actually...
Read moreYour poor employee was all alone to serve the bar, to go, and dining room! I placed an online order from the parking lot, came in and waited 10 minutes before he was able to speak to me. I waited a total of 40 minutes inside for my order and it still came out cold. I don’t blame the server, I blame management! I counted 34 people in the dining room, and that did not include those of us in the carry out line; how do you expect to run a business this way? The server was very apologetic but that he still was not set up for success by his leadership so despite his kindness, he still was not enabled to provide good service! I asked to speak with a manager and was told there wasn’t one on duty; so who is your staff to turn to for support and escalations? This is also the second time I’ve offered from here, and both times the sauce for my tenders have been on the side despite the picture online showing the tenders covered in sauce. When I asked why this keeps happening I was told this is the standard when the wings are ordered for carry out so that the sauce doesn’t leak from the box; this is not acceptable. If that’s a concern than it’s your organizations responsibility to find alternative packaging, not change it. At this rate I cannot see myself returning to this location. You owe it to your staff to help them succeed; at this rate you are failing your customers both internal...
