I have been driving past this establishment for over 4 years and often wondered why I never stopped. Well one night I decided that I needed to stop and I'm glad that I did.
The first time that I ate here I had the chicken fajita plate, and one hard shell beef taco (wish I took a picture) And I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. No I had no idea that you ordered from a counter and then they called your name and you went to go pick up your food.. not that there's anything wrong with that, I just didn't expect it.
I waited probably between 5 and 7 minutes for the lovely ladies to yell my number out to which I went and picked up my tray of food. By complete shear amazement I couldn't believe that there was so much food it filled an entire cafeteria tray.
I sat down at a booth and immediately started to dig in. The rice was just a way that I liked it soft, hot, and flavorful. There was an abundant amount of fajita chicken but I felt that there was not enough green peppers and onion... This could be partly due to the sizing and the portions that they give you and maybe I needed to order more this part I don't know I'm not faulting them either. So then I turn my attention over to the tortillas that were just freshly made for my order and I have to say these things were wonderful!!! thiiiiccccc and hot!!! Just like how I like my wo. . . Chowder! Yeah, chowder.
Don't forget to hit up the salsa bar and try all the different salsas they have up there with whatever meal you're having and then make sure you mop up your plate with those tortillas that they give you. Even if you order a three taco plates, if you leave there hungry then you have some serious issues that you need to reevaluate. I'm a big guy and I was completely stuffed to the gills.
Also I want to point out that I came here four times inside of one week. Two times for dinner, and two times for lunch. Each and every time I left here satisfied and full.
I'm not going to sit here and sing all the praises and I'm not going to say that this is the best place in all of cedar Park but what I will say is that I thoroughly enjoyed my meals so much that I have gone back multiple times. The staff is friendly and very upbeat and that actually helps quite a bit in my reviews.
Great. . . Now I want...
Read moreWe have a love/hate relationship with Rosa's Cafe. We have been going there weekly since they opened (1431 Cedar Park). When they first opened, the prices were fantastic. Even the fajitas were $7.**. But they have continually raised prices and they just did again last week. Now beef Fajitas are $15. Not good.
The other more serious issue we have had with Rosa's Cafe is their drive through service. We live 30 minutes away and we usually order a lot of food (2 full bags). Unfortunately, we have been shorted food more from Rosa's Cafe then all other fast food restaurants combined. This is not an exaggeration in the least. We've gotten to the point where we try to check at the window but we order so much food, it takes a lot of time and people are waiting so that is difficult. I have asked the person at the window to check it a few times but they are not happy about that judging by their expression. So we don't always check and too many times we find out once we are home. We usually let it go but there has been a couple of occasions that my wife has called and gotten our $ back but at this point, with the much higher prices and being shorted constantly, going there is less appealing than...
Read moreIt's been a while since I've posted a review. So here is a new one. Rosa's Cafe & Tortilla Factory is not your ordinary Mexican restaurant. For a start, you can watch before your very eyes tortillas being made from start to finish. Food wise, there are plenty of nice options. My personal favorite is the Steak Fagita Nachos. Add sour cream and spicy Salsa Rojo (Red Sauce) and fresh nacho cheese sauce and you got some awesome nachos to eat! Another personal favorite of mine that they have is Fuse Peach Tea, which has excellent flavor.
The interior of the restaurant itself is very nice. You can see some nice Mexican/Latino artwork, Historical advertisements (EG: a Mexican Coca-Cola Ad from what I think is from the 1950's/1960's) and more. You even have access to a salsa bar where you have an assortment of different Salsas (of varying degrees of heat/spice), Jalapenos, Salsa Verde (Green Sauce) and Salsa Rojo (Red Sauce), etc... For some reason sour cream is not found at the bar. Rather, you have to ask for sour cream (which I assume is because it has to be refrigerated).
All in all this is a great place to sit down and eat. Lots of options, nice atmosphere, nice...
