Clock House Brewing — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

I first experienced this beer at a bottle share, and I have to say I was impressed. Visiting home base was nothing short of an amazing experience.

First the bartender, super nice and knowledgeable about the beer, food, and brewery. The beer was good, and varied, I hear clock house is known for their hazies, and don't get me wrong witch slap was good, but I found myself drawn to their variety of different beer flavored beer. The stout has great flavor and wasn't going to get you hammered, the smoked pills was smoky but not too smoky and I absolutely adore the black IPA. Highly recommend you check this place out, but act fast because I don't think the beers I mentioned will all be around too long, replaced by something equally delicious I imagine.

Oh and the food was also kind of out of this world too, check out the south Carolina BBQ wings and the crab ragoon dip whole...

Super cool local brewery and attached restaurant. Can’t go wrong with a place named Black Sheep Social Club. Clock House Tap Room is attached and is a great spot to wait for your table or to enjoy some craft brews and delicious food. Definitely a few steps up from your typical pub fare. All the staff was super friendly and you could tell they aren’t lacking their regulars. Atmosphere was great.

Update: Returned 4 years later because we enjoyed this place the first time we were in town. Pretty much same thoughts, nice atmosphere, super friendly staff, but the food quality has definitely gone down. Pub burger was super salty and tasted exactly like a cook from frozen burger you would get at Costco. Couldn’t even eat half of it. Still check them out, but avoid the burger, not worth...

Wow. To say Clockhouse outperformed every expectation we had for a rehearsal dinner is an understatement. Clockhouse made every accommodation possible to make our gathering special. From allowing us to put our own photos on their televisions, to pictures and candles on every table, the Clockhouse staff made the night unforgettable. Moving past the service, the food and drink was incredible. Weeks after the event, we still have guests asking us how they can find more of the wings and sliders Clockhouse served. If you’ve never had a Witch Slap at Clockhouse, do yourself a favor and drive there ASAP to get one.
