Except for a clumsy server who knocked a picture off the wall (and almost hit my son's head) and the same one interrupting the table when we were in the middle of life statements, this place was excellent. Twenty years ago December 3rd my husband died in a work related accident and they brought him back, twice! So we were having a life celebration for him at Nolia. Our ranch is in SE Colorado, but we wanted it to be somewhere that would be a great location for all the family to eat and spend time together. We are all foodies, both cooking and eating all kinds of flavors/foods, with professional kitchens in all our houses, and Nolia's menu covered a spectrum of food. So we took a shot and booked our celebration there. We are so happy we did. From the warm greeting we received as we walked in the door, to the understanding servers who were so patient with us as part of our group was late (So so sorry). They took the time to explain items on the menu from how it was prepped, where it wassourced to their own preferences. We were all over the menu from two charcuterie boards, to the duck confit, steak, butternut squash tortellini with lump crab, to the stuffed tiger shrimp and of lamb osso bucca, then finished off with two great desserts. My husband had a lovely smoked scotch and my belvedere on the rocks came with the nice big single ice cube. We never felt rushed and even though we were in a room that was having a big Christmas party, it was never too loud. We rarely go back to any restaurants (either they don't live up to the hype or because there are just too many places to try) but we all agreed we will be going back to Nolia. Take the chance and have dinner there, you will be...
Read moreThis was our first time here and what an amazing little find! It's hard to spot at first because they've only been open for 8 weeks and they don't have a big sign out yet, just a banner with their name. As soon as you pull into the lot from Quebec, it's to the right of the jewelry store and to the left of the Crave II Mediterranean Grill. Very inviting atmosphere and everything looks great! They have a small bar area and then tables all around. There is also another seating area back towards the left for larger groups, if needed. The menu is very straightforward and simple, they have a great selection of charcuterie boards along with paninis, small plates, and canapes (small bites). Their wine list is also very good with lots of reds and whites to select from. They also have beer and whiskey options too. You can order one of the pre-selected charcuterie boards or you can create your own! We got the Hard And Aged Charcuterie board, the Spicy Chicken Panini, the Chicken/Bacon/Avocado Panini, and then for dessert we ordered the tiramasu dessert and the lemon shortbread. I also included some pictures of the other charcuterie boards our group got, one being the Chef's Choice-The Biggie. Everything was very good and even though we ordered a lot, we didn't feel super full because everything was very light and very well proportioned. The service was amazing, the owner was the one taking care of us and she really knew her wines! Very happy we found this place, we will definitely be back again and I highly recommend visiting here and giving this new...
Read moreI am grateful that we decided to come out to try Nolia. We will be back again! The restaurant is a little smaller than I expected, but had some great seating outside. The staff were friendly and everyone had great things to say about the food.
We started with blackberry flatbread, it was excellent, sweet and had great flavor 10/10. We also had the gumbo, which was good 7.5/10, also flavorful. We had both the Caesar 9/10 and pear salad 8.5/10. I really thought the dressing on the pear salad was wonderful. For side dishes we had the green chile cornbread, with really great cream cheese 8/10, it was a little dry but had great flavor. The carrots were another winner, paired well with the goat cheese 10/10. For the entrees my partner had the short rib bolognese 7.5/10 and I had the crab stuffed rainbow trout special 8.5/10. For dessert we had both the cannolis 8/10 and the winter spiced carrot cake 9/10. The carrot cake was a better dessert and we loved the cream cheese that was on it. If there was any drawback it was that the cake felt a little dry but the topping helped with that.
All in all it was a great meal. We are very happy with our choice to come here. Our meal took a long time, we were there over 2 hours. The place was empty when we arrived but got filled up as the evening moved on. It took a long time for our entrees close to 45 minutes, but I am not going to hold that against them. The service was friendly but they could have come over a little more frequently.
We look forward to coming...
