BEWARE OF THE 18% SERVICE FEE!!! I have been here several times (food is wonderful), but never dealt with the new payment method and I have never been charged a service fee here before. I was so dissapointed, I did not see this fee before adding a 22% tip. We were a party of 5, so not a large party. The service was average at best. Our server never brought plates to us, for our Hummus starter. She took our order, brought our food, and took our payment, but did not check-in on us after bringing our food, or offer drink refills. We had to flag her down to get refills. So, I felt like a 22% tip was very generous given the quality of service. I brought clients for a celebratory lunch and thought the bill seemed a little higher than I expected. But, they do not bring a paper bill anymore, they use the handheld machines which are difficult to read in full I did not see the service fee. I was emailed the receipt. Once I got home and read the itemized bill, I saw the 18% ($21.96 service fee). I was SHOCKED!!!! I felt scammed. Had I been made aware of the service fee, I still would have left an additional tip, but not, 22% for mediocre service. My bill was $122 plus service fee and tip for an additional $55 !!!! The food is AMAZING, however, It is not worth and additional 38% to 40% in fees and tips. Beware Beware Beware! There are great places that don't charge this fee. This is just in response to the restaurnt's response to my review above: Please explain what the obvious reason is for 18% service fee. It is not obvious to me. It may be in practice in some establishments, but, it is actually not a common practice. Adding gratuity is a common practice these days. I have heard of adding gratudity for parties of 6 or more. But, your fee is not a gratudity. It is a service fee. So what is the difference in restaurant services between a party of 4 verses a party of 5? What resources is this extra person causing that you need to add this fee? If this is on your menu, I did not see it. I have never been charged this fee before, so, I did not even think that I had to look for it. Adding service fees is hurting the serving staff. People are less likely to fairly tip servers because of these ridiculous...
Read moreMy wife and her friend had gone here for lunch and really enjoyed it, so we gave it a try for dinner.
Ambiance was classy, sparsely decorated but upscale. Video screens of tourist spots of Turkey play on multiple walls. Music is sometimes Turkish pop hits, other times more background mood music. Also leans heavily into the catering / delivery / pickup side of things, despite the nice house.
Food was an interesting mix. The menus were on tablets, but items were grouped oddly, and were so numerous that the tablets actually made it more difficult to keep track of the different offerings.
It seemed a bit, after the fact, that the food was meant to be ordered family style (or for delivery) -- large plates, but incomplete.
My lamb chops came with four lollypops, and were seasoned very nicely, along with a huge bed of rice -- ending up as a rather dry dish, that, maybe, I was supposed to order a side sauce with? In either case, it looked nothing like the the picture in the menu (on a bed of pita with a side salad).
My wife had the Hummus Beef Shawarma, which again mentions salad in the description, but came with none (but did have a huge lake of hummus).
If it was intended to be family style, that really didn't get mentioned in the menu or by the waiter.
Service was okay. It felt like our waiter (the only one I saw in the house early on a Friday night) was new at the job and continuously waiting for us to complain about something. Food was brought up pretty promptly. Oddly, though we got a suggestive sale for some pita and hummus as an app (which was nice), we didn't get one for a drink to go with our meal.
Net-net, I would not object to going there again, but it's not going to be a re-visit...
Read moreReally good. Very different flavors. Definitely going back. Looking for Mediterranean food that happened to stumble upon this place which was great thing. Very friendly service. The presentation was good. It's a clean restaurant. I had the Turkish vegetable balls which are served cold but they had a sweet and spicy flavor. I thought they were awesome. Served on a bed of lettuce and with lemon. The server didn't warm me. Some people don't like it because it's different but I thought it was awesome. I had the chicken shawarma with hummus and the sauce they use at a different flavor. Very unique. Not your typical taziki sauce for sure. The chicken was well. Flavored cooked very well. Most of the time people cook chicken very dry. This was not the case. It was perfect. Came with the sides pita bread and of course the salad which was good as well. Also had the Turkish tea which was a black tea but it is definitely a different flavor. I thought it was very good. They even have little lollipops on the way out the door so everything I thought was just a little different. Very unique and like I said I'll be definitely going back. They are changing their name right now so it won't be called crave.
If you're feeling really ambitious, they have a megaplater feeds about six people for about $90. They also have a giant one that feeds about three people. I might have to bring my friends and test it out. The menu is very extensive. They have the usual Mediterranean foods but a lot of very different types and even if you try the usual stuff it's going to have a different taste than you're used to and that was actually a very good...
