Morning Meditation - orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger, agave and beet juice. Gorgeous presentation of orange juice on the bottom and beet juice on the top. Definitely give it a stir first or you will only tastes the beet juice!
Million Dollar Bacon - four slices of bacon baked with sugar, pepper, cayenne and maple syrup. How can you go wrong?? I didn’t taste the cayenne. Mostly the sweetness from the sugar and the salt from the bacon itself.
Avocado Toast - whole grain toast topped with avocado, EVOO, lemon, salt and a side of two over easy eggs. While the bread is very tender, it’s not as flavorful as others they offer. But they are VERY generous with the amount of avocado. The lemon comes through and is very nice. The eggs were cooked perfectly so that the yolk spilled everywhere.
Pomegranate Mule - pomegranate, lime, ginger and sugar. This was hubby’s favorite. The strong zing of ginger ensures you don’t miss out on having alcohol.
Truffled Wild Mushroom Fritata - truffle roasted mushrooms, shallots, topped with a scoop of garlic & herb cream cheese and lemon dressed arugula. Served with fruit and ciabatta. Small and light compared to other dishes -perfect if that’s what you’re looking for! I didn’t taste the truffle, but the mushrooms were sizable and generous. I liked the cream cheese so much that I wanted more....This ciabatta is the best bread they have! Amazing flavor. Chewy and soft on the inside.
Kale Tonic - Kale, apple, cucumber and lemon juice. My favorite! The main flavor was of the green apple.
Ham & Gruyere Melt - ham, tomato and Gruyere with dijonnaise on grilled brioche. Served with lemon dressed mixed greens. Decent amount of meat. The bread was soft and not over toasted. I would’ve liked more dijonnaise.
Pumpkin Pancake - First Watch’s Pancakes are absolutely THE BEST. While the pumpkin is nice, my personal favorite is the banana...
Read moreVisiting from the nation's capital, I went to celebrate my daughter's upcoming departure for university and my nephew's relocation for a new (very important) job in Ohio, for brunch at FW, 5245 Cornerstone North Blvd Dayton, OH 45440.
There was a blatant incidence of racial profiling during our visit, when I witnessed unidentified officer, who suddenly show up and were stationed outside the restaurant facing our table, and their focus on our family was horrifying, beyond repulsive, and inappropriate, disgust and foul. The food overall was terrible and couldn't be finished/eaten because of the excessive amount of salt, the waiter's urgent/prompt delivery of our check was appalling and made us rush to finish our meal/brunch. Although some of the other meals were (just) OK, the whole service was felt rushed---despite the fact the restaurant wast not crowded. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER dine at another FW when I travel; the discriminating attitude I experienced from the manager and the management at this location was horrific.
TO THE OWNER of OH FW: I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT Discrimination is illegal!!!! If there are specific people you wish to service only, post a notice, SEE HOW THAT WORKS FOR YOU!! What this local has done is horrible in this day and age. Furthermore, your restaurant is basically fast food, not a four-star establishment.
Please train your employees (better) and to know that your restaurant is basic--- a low-cost, fried, trans-fat, gloried fast food, business and NOT out of reach (money-wise) for MOST people. I went there only because my teen thought it would fun/cool and interesting. YOUR restaurant is NOT ONE BIT COOL. Good luck with your RP tactics and see how...
Read moreWe are regular customers of First Watch, but after this visit we will not be returning to this location.
First and foremost, our waitress, Aviyonna, was extremely rude, cold, and unprofessional. She never introduced herself when we arrived. We had to ask multiple times for basic items like napkins, silverware, and straws, and each time she acted visibly bothered.
At one point, we had a spill at our table, and Aviyonna completely ignored us. Another kind staff member—not our waitress—brought us towels and paper towels. When we had to move tables because ours was soaked, Aviyonna still didn’t acknowledge the situation. She didn’t offer to replace our drinks, check if we were okay, or provide additional napkins. She didn’t smile once throughout the entire meal.
She disappeared for long periods and only checked on us to ask how the bill should be split. Quite frankly, Aviyonna’s attitude ruined what should have been an enjoyable meal and reflects poorly on the restaurant. She may want to consider a different line of work if customer service is not a priority for her.
The food itself was decent, and we sincerely appreciate the other employee who stepped in to help us. However, this experience made our family feel unwelcome and undervalued. We love First Watch as a brand, but after this experience, we will not be returning to this location and will likely take a break from visiting...
