Nestled in a corner of the bustling city, I stumbled upon a hidden gem that surpassed all my culinary expectations. This cozy little restaurant had an unassuming exterior, but once inside, it revealed its true charm. From the warm and inviting ambiance to the quick and attentive service, my dining experience at this establishment was nothing short of delightful.
Let's dive right into the star of the show - the flavorful Uni Pasta. Bursting with the taste of the ocean, every bite was a symphony of flavors. The fresh and delicate uni (sea urchin) paired perfectly with the al dente pasta, creating a harmonious blend that left me craving for more. The chef's expertise in combining these ingredients was evident, as the dish showcased a perfect balance of umami and creaminess.
Speaking of creaminess, the Japanese Style Mentai was a true indulgence for the palate. The creamy mentai sauce draped lovingly over a bed of succulent seafood, creating a tantalizing fusion of flavors. Each bite was an explosion of richness and umami, leaving me in awe of the culinary mastery behind this dish.
Despite being a small establishment, the service was prompt and efficient. The staff members were attentive and friendly, ensuring that I felt comfortable throughout my meal. Despite the constant flow of customers, the waitstaff managed to provide quick service without compromising on quality. It was evident that they took pride in their work and genuinely cared about providing a memorable dining experience.
The cozy decoration of the restaurant added to the overall charm. The warm color palette, soft lighting, and tasteful decor created an intimate atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The attention to detail in the interior design further enhanced the dining experience, making it a perfect place for a romantic dinner or a casual get-together with friends.
In conclusion, this restaurant has truly won me over with its exceptional dishes and cozy ambiance. The flavorful Uni Pasta and creamy Japanese Style Mentai were undeniably the highlights of my meal, showcasing the chef's culinary expertise and passion for creating memorable flavors. The small size of the restaurant did not hinder the quality of service, as the attentive staff ensured a smooth and efficient dining experience. I first heard about Little Tokyo's Pasta e Pasta from an acquaintance raving about the place. Pasta e Pasta is an Italian/Japanese pasta shop, offering variations on the carb lover's dream. When I saw the signage put up at the former location of Geko Tei, I was excited Pasta e Pasta would soon take up shop in my neighborhood.
Jidori chicken gizzard confit- Tender, slow-cooked Jidori chicken gizzards. This was a great appetizer. The house bread was extra crusty, akin to a crouton in consistency. I was the first guest of the day, so maybe I received leftover bread. However, when sopped up with olive oil & the confit fat, became much more palatable.
Mentai cream pasta- It's mentai, not hentai, you freaks ;p Pasta e Pasta's specialties are uni pasta & beef ragu sauce spaghetti, but I knew I had to have their mentai cream pasta. With cod roe & mushrooms, the generous amount of creamy pasta was bursting with flavor. The pasta, itself, was perfectly al dente, and didn't become soggy smothered with all the sauce. I savored every forkful & was dismayed once my plate was finished clean.
Service was good. Aside from the much too crusty bread, nary a complaint was to be had. Parking is via a private lot at the Sleep Number Mattress Store plaza, with more behind the building. Pasta e Pasta is located between DD Mau & the dental office.
Pasta e Pasta is an excellent meal option that has cemented itself in Cerritos. The pasta is top-notch quality, and the choices will make it difficult to decide which one to pick. I'm eagerly looking forward to coming back, and perhaps going for the squid ink pasta. That is, if I can restrain myself from ordering the delicious mentai cream pasta,...

I recently visited Pasta-e-Pasta in Cerritos with friends for dinner. While the food was quite good, the experience was ruined by the behavior of the manager, a man with tattoos on both arms. He was incredibly rude throughout our meal, bumping into me twice without offering an apology. At one point, he even intentionally bumped my chair and failed to say "excuse me."
To make matters worse, my friend noticed him glaring at me with an unpleasant attitude. As a first-time customer, I expected a more courteous and professional demeanor, especially from the management. This type of behavior is unacceptable, and it left a bad impression.
Unfortunately, due to this unpleasant experience, I won’t be returning, and I can't recommend this restaurant to others. It's a shame because the food itself was enjoyable, but the lack of respect and professionalism from the staff overshadowed it.
I don't think the manager is Japanese. If he were, I’ve never encountered a rude Japanese person before. They're usually very polite and welcoming, but this guy is just a...
