Girlfriend and I went here for the first time. We got a brand new server. 1st day he told us. He didn’t know the menu and had to go to the cook many times to answer questions for us. The meal started off great. Besides them being out of tea in the whole restaurant and only having Pepsi products but we don’t drink soda. So city water it is. I mean how do you run out of brewed tea? We got the crab dip which was good but had to pay extra for more garlic bread to dip in it. They gave us a sample of this really good risotto but apparently it’s not on the menu and you can’t order it. So we picked out items and everything came out wrong. I got crab imperial. It was filled with nothing but chunks of peppers and tomatoes. The server told me it was just crab and cheese when I ordered because I’m a little picky. I was not happy. The girlfriend got crab tortellini. We switched plates even though hers was filled with chunks of tomatoes all through it too but it was easier to pick out. I tried by best but either one of us liked our meal and for the $75 price tag we were not happy. We expected way better for a place that’s suppose to be rated #1 in Chambersburg. The manager saw that we were upset. I mean I just wanted a perfect night for my girl. We were each offered a free dessert. She got the cheesecake and I got the triple chocolate cake. I mean I figured how could that go wrong. Her cheesecake was spoiled and sour. We each took a bite and it was terrible. She gave up and was done. Wasnt worth trying anymore. I took a few bites of my chocolate cake but it was stale and dry. I felt absolutely awful since I suggested to go there. We both work hard and are going through a lot and just wanted a nice romantic night out. This place was not it. I forgot to mention that my glass wasn’t clean when we sat down and had white cream all over it which smeared on the table. Smelled like strong dish detergent and was overpowering the whole meal. Not only that but during dessert the table beside us ordered 4 plates of steak skillets or something which still came out sizzling so you could cook the steak at the table. The smoke and burnt smell filled the whole dining area. Several tables around us noticed as well. Also another table beside us was upset because it took too long to get their food. I’d guess over an hour but can’t know for sure but we were there for over 2.5 hours oursleves and not by choice. Everything was kind of slow and ate into our entire nights plans. We both went home tired and upset and both ended up getting sick to our stomachs a little after leaving. We will not be back and would not recommend this restaurant. $75 to leave sick and still hungry for an actual good meal. We joked and said we will go to McDonald’s instead next time. At least we would...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to this place on Valentine’s Day we are 16 and 17. We had a reservation for 7:30, we arrive at our reservation time and got seated right away. We were in the corner and could hear the music that was being played at the bar through the wall. Our waitress took our orders and at 8:30 my appetizer arrived, only mine and not my boyfriend’s. I had ordered the calamari (10/10) and my boyfriend ordered the garlic bread with crab dip. He got his 30 minutes after mine came. Our waitress checked up on us twice before appetizers and said our food would be out soon, she also came to our table thinking we asked for the check when we only had 1 appetizer. After we ate our appetizers we had waited 15-20 minutes and this lady came around who I presumed to be the manager. I told her that we got here at 7:30 and waited an hour for our appetizers to arrive. She said that she would tell the cooks to speed our food up. The tables around us were getting food quicker than us and the place wasn’t really busy. At this point it is 9:30, 2 hours after we got there and we were ready to leave. The lady came back and told us that she had told the cooks that we had complained and that our main dish will be out in 10 minutes. She didn’t apologize or offer to compensate any of our meals. When we got our meals I was missing one of my sides, I decided to not say anything because I was ready to leave and go home. We got our desserts to go and left there around 9:45. I had told my parents what was happening throughout the dinner and they think that we were discriminated against since we are a young couple, and only had water. This was my first time going there and I am disappointed for its...
Read moreBeware! In March, I made a reservation for graduation day for 8 people. When we arrived in May, they had no record of the reservation on the handwritten list at the front desk. Luckily, they could accommodate us...or maybe not so lucky! We were seated in the bar, among big screen televisions and....the bar. Pictures of scantily clad women stared down from the walls at the grandparents in our party, who were already uncomfortable since they were seated on high bar stools. The nightclub atmosphere was enhanced at 2:30 in the afternoon by drawn shades and the regulars at the bar. The server presented the menu.... And it was nothing like the menu on the website or even the one posted outside the restaurant. It was a "special" menu for the weekend! We had picked the restaurant for the menu on the website, and here we were, presented with a menu full of entrees over $20 - and even a $43 lobster tail! Oh, also there were the $16 salads. We quickly ordered salads, ate, and left. On the way out, we heard more people complaining about the unannounced menu change. It is so incredibly disrespectful to the customers - most of whom that day were part of large family groups celebrating graduation - to change the menu so very drastically and expensively without notice. It seemed like the management intentionally took advantage of people that day. It is hard to believe this establishment is an "Event Center". The food wasn't good. The tuna for the Nicoise salad was not quality and three of us are still paying for it in frequent installments. The service was ok. I'll never go...
