After many years of tradition, Burrito King has finally dropped in quality enough for me to edit my review. Unfortunately, their cost-cutting measures have finally reached the point where they have decided to gut their titular item: the Burrito King. Rather than the typical plate with sour cream, cheese, corn, and tomatoes which you can pour over and into your burrito at your leisure, they now only provide the burrito and a cup of cheese. They no longer provide a bag of free chips, nor did they provide me a cup of salsa. Not only have they removed features, the quality of the burrito itself has also dropped. Where before you could expect a diverse bite, now, all you can taste is rice and meat. They barely include any of the side options one might expect from a burrito such as lettuce, beans, etc., though you can find hints of them if you look closely. It was dry, monotonous, and left me feeling sad at the glory it used to be. All this while remaining at the price point of nearly 15 dollars! For 15 dollars, you could get 2 pizzas from Dominoes. For 15 dollars, you could probably go to a different local mexican restaurant and get their signature dish with complimentary chips and salsa, end up paying less than 15 dollars, and feel 10x more satisfied than if you went here.
Part of me hopes they will turn around and return to quality food and quality service, but at the same time I've found it rare for restaurants to turn around once they've begun such egregious cost-cutting measures. This review was written in August of 2022. I hope 5 years from now I will be satisfied with their service enough for me to edit it again and leave a more...
Read moreDuring our routine breakfast outing, we chanced upon Burrito King Mexican Grill. Why not give this novel eatery a try? Upon entering, we received a warm welcome. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful, filled with the savory aromas of Mexican cuisine. I eagerly anticipated savoring the dishes. I shared with my husband my expectation that the food would be as delectable as it smelled. As we examined the menu, we sought recommendations from the staff. They proposed one of their popular dishes, the Quesabirra's, a unique taco featuring cheese and meat stew dip. The meat in the tacos was exceptionally tender and juicy. The juice served on the side contained tender pieces of meat, adding to the overall delight. We also ordered the steak green chilaquiles. Although intended for my husband, the dish proved too spicy for his liking. We ended up swapping plates. Not a problem we still enjoyed our food. As someone who appreciates spicy food, I found it ideal. For those who may be sensitive to spicy dishes, it's prudent to request a sample of the green salsa on a chip before ordering. While waiting for our order, we were treated to complimentary chips and salsa. The red salsa was outstanding, and I requested a container to take the leftover salsa home for my morning eggs. If you're in the vicinity, I strongly recommend visiting Burrito King Mexican Grill. You'll be pleased with the experience. I look forward to returning to sample more of their...
Read morei actually ended up waiting quite a long time to receive an order i placed on grubhub BUT this place totally still deserves 5 stars. i called and was able to figure out the issue w the restaurant and the guys on the phone were very nice and very apologetic. they ended up delivering the order, hot and fresh and threw in some sodas. we tried tipping additionally when driver arrived but he wouldnt even accept the tip and just apologized profusely! only complaint is that he didnt accept the tip :p even tho we had an issue, it was solved quickly and appropriately. so many people jump to being disrespectful when things like this happen, really pays off to be patient and understanding. technology fails us, people make mistakes. we could all use a little more empathy in our lives and i thank burrito king for a delish late night meal and reminding me that being a decent human being isnt hard and...
