I honestly feel confused and even maybe deceived by some of the reviews on this place. This is the second haircut place I tried on campus and I would say I had a rather poor experience. As an Asian male, I wanted to try to get a haircut from a place more catered toward Asians as the lady stylist cutting hair was Asian herself. First off, there was a mishap with appointment scheduling but it was resolved in a fairly prompt manner mostly due to the grace of another client but that showed to me that the lady was not very punctual with scheduling which is something I think is worth noting.
Second and one of the biggest no-no's for me, once I got in the chair the lady immediately started taking out the trimmers and cutting my hair without even asking me or consulting me what I wanted. After a few seconds in, I panically realized what was happening and stopped her and "very briefly" showed her pictures of what I wanted and a few other verbal instructions, she continued on with my cut without seeming like she paid much attention or took the time to understand what I wanted.
Third and another big turn off, her poor client service was reflected more tangibly due to her lack of attention to detail and care with the haircut. One of the things I tried communicating to her that I'm very particular about was to keep the existing side part I had and keep the top of my hair disconnected from the sides. She didn't take the proper care to honor this and messed up my part (it could have been a lot worse if I didn't say anythign in the beginning). Not to mention she finished the haircut literally in 10 minutes! I saw a couple reviews that commended her on her quick cuts, but I would not consider 10 minutes for a haircut as quick but rather an unfinished job.
Overall, I had a poor experience and cannot give her the benefit of the doubt for just having a rough day or simple miscommunication. Yes there was definitely miscommunication of both ends maybe I could have been more clear. It's also hard because she only spoke Chinese to me which I am fluent in and can understand but regardless of that some of the things she did such as not consulting me first about what I wanted is inexcusable in my opinion. My haircut was not a total disaster, overall its fine but I'm pretty particular about how my hair is cut (ex: keeping my side part) and she did not meet my criteria which is why I want to emphasize this is MY poor experience. I'm sure many of her existing clientele (predominantly asian males from what I've observed) are satisfied with her service but like I said I was not personally.

Anyways, I am writing this review at 2:25AM when I should be getting sleep and finishing homework. I hope that it provides some genuine insight for you all though, my intent was not to bash the lady stylist but rather to share how my experience was to help you all make a more informed decision.

Read moreTL;DR - unhygienic and racist. Go only if a cheap haircut matters more than your self respect.
The shop is well located on green street, but the interiors and implements are unhygienic and dirty. Cutting tools, chairs and floors have remains of the previous day's hair all over. Dirty water and sponges used to wipe hair.
In fairness, the cut was speedy (
Read moreHad a haircut today but the lady was not a professional and just copy pasted the hair style and its like zero size on left side with unequal hairs and unequal hairs on top and..... I cannot describe it, its weird. She took literally 10 to 15 min for my haircut and did not use any proper attachments for the trimmer and the shop was alsk not clean. Literally filled with hairs even the equipments.
I accept that the price was 16$ but not even worth it.
My advice for her is to clean the shop and use proper attachments and also ask the customer what they want.
Hope someone will get more better experience than me based on my review.
I want to post the pictures but they are horrible like backside hairs are big and...
