Caffe Bene Green — Restaurant in Champaign

After my transaction was complete, I attempted to say thank you. I thought it would be kind to ask this person their name. They ignored my question. I do not appreciate people that are kind until the transaction is made and then…choose not to treat others with the courtesy of being straight forward. I believe this person has the option to say that they prefer avoid communicating their name at work. To actively choose to ignore seemed quite rude to me.

I find this judgement come when people feel like I have ill intentions. I feel like people do not realise I am legally blind. I am simply attempting to be friendly.

The person behind the register added a 15% tip on my behalf. I plan to communicate with my credit card company to cancel the tip portion of the transaction. It seemed clear they were kind until they got the tip.

I used to come here to study, but for some reason, ever since a few months ago my device doesn't work on their wifi anymore. It works fine on my phone, and my friends have no problems, and I can connect for maybe a few seconds, but as soon as I try to do anything, I get disconnected. This is the only place where this happens to me. I use my device elsewhere all the time and have no issues. The only conclusion I can come to is that they ban certain devices or websites from their network? It's pretty annoying since I can't do the literal one thing I came to do. I buy a drink every time I come, but now I have no choice but to go elsewhere. Absolutely ridiculous that they treat their customers this way. Why have a cafe on a college campus if you don't want people to study there? At least put up a notice saying you're not allowed to study so I don't have to waste an hour figuring out...

The management in completely unempathetic.

I started coming to cafe bene to meet new friends and do my work since I have limited access to campus. Oftentimes, I would invite a friend over so that we could hang out together, and they would buy coffee from cafe bene,

But, the management kicked me out of cafe bene stating that someone wrote a review on Google that I sit in cafe bene for too long and don't buy coffee. (I don't drink coffee, so I would just get water).

Literally, a few minutes before I got removed from the cafe, I was thinking about texting someone if they wanted to hang out here later this week.
