This chop shop is in downtown Chandler, in an area where parking is extremely difficult to find. Often, one has to temporary park in a difficult spot, if one does not want to walk half a mile.
That said, I like their food. Hence, despite the difficult street parking situation, I still do purchase from this location when in the vicinity.
I always PRE-order my food online, such that by the time I arrive, my to-go bag is ready.
Unfortunately, this time, though friendly, a slender / extremely skinny girl / lady (the cashier) behind the counter did not apply the “sense of urgency” towards the customer, i.e. me, (which is pivotal in hospitality, as any industry veteran will agree and know) to hand me my order.
Instead, she was distracted chatting with another colleague of hers.
My order was ready on the to-go shelf next to / behind her, labelled and even visible from the position I was standing at, which was right in front of the cashier.
I waited patiently several minutes and finally, when I saw her continuing to chat with her colleague, I grabbed my bag from the to-go shelf where it was.
The store was not even busy. It was empty in fact with only one or two customers present.
As an industry veteran with ample restaurant and hotel management experience, I encourage you to train your staff better, to PRIORITIZE your orders, i.e. to teach a sense of urgency with customers who are standing right before your staff. The young (very skinny) lady cashier did not even look at the shelf right next to her before she walked away to the back and then, to the front again to chat with her colleague a few feet away.
Last, but not least, staff’s professional and cordial conduct and verbiage seem also to be lacking at every singe Chop Shop I have attended this far. If you seek genuinely warm, cordial and welcoming customer treatment, you won’t find it at Chop Shop. It’s basic at best.
For the prices they charge and the reputation they carry, one would and should expect elevated customer care and a refined staff.
Again, selective hiring and the appropriate grooming and training of staff is pivotal to any business’ success.
To the management team: In advance, thank you for reading and for acknowledging my concern.

Read morePlaced my first order directly with Chop Shop Chandler via the app. They use a third party to deliver, Door Dash. The driver arrived and handed us one bag. We told him we were missing the majority of our order, the entrees! He apologized and said what he is giving us is all that Chop Shop handed him and I would need to call the store for a refund. I then call the store, get placed on hold, then finally speak to an associate. I tell her my name and what happened and before I could even tell her what the missing items were, she lists them to me. At that point I know they have them at the store. She then places me on hold again and comes back to tell me that they gave them away and I will need to call Door Dash for a refund. I said, wait, I ordered through Chop Shop and Chop Shop charged my card. She then goes on to say, “my manager is telling me to tell you” that you need to call door dash for a refund. Great customer service, as the manager does not even get on the phone. I then submit to door dash and they say it’s through chop shop!! At this point I have no dinner and am utterly frustrated. I call Chop Shop back and…wait for it…they will give me a credit on the app and can’t give me a refund! Seriously? You charged my card, didn’t deliver my food, ran me around and now you’re graciously giving me a credit to do this again in the future?! The manager, who came to the phone this time, hopped on with the “Hhhhhhiiiiiii, thanks for calling, what can I help you with?”, literally dripping with a sarcastic "everything is roses" tone. I cannot, could not at that point, get a refund. So beware. Ordered from the app, didn’t get my food, customer experience rating is in the negative zone for Chop Shop and now I’m still awaiting my money...
Read moreI wanted to like this place. I really did. June at the counter was such a sweetheart and really helpful, and the service itself wasn't bad. That alone kept it from being a lesser rating.
We tried four different sandwiches - I got to try the Tuna, Veggie+Hummus, and Chicken+Prosciutto. We also had the Sweet Potato hash.
The Tuna was perhaps the best of the three and balanced nicely with sweet, savory, and spice. The bread worked with it.
The Veggie+Hummus was heavy on the hummus and vinegar and it was difficult for the veggies/corn to cut through it all. The use of wheat bread wasn't really a great choice either for that sandwich type. A more substantial bread would have been better given how wet all those ingredients are.
The Chicken+Prosciutto was completely overwhelmed by the sharp mustard - I don't think it was assembled poorly, I just think the recipe's usage of that condiment was a poor choice and would have been better served by a less intense mustard instead, or balanced out with some kind of mayonnaise/aioli.
The hash with Onions and Kale was... frankly quite bland, and with the mushiness of sweet potatoes you REALLY need something to carry the dish away from the baby food texture. Some spice - any kind of spice - would have made it better. Salt & Pepper added a bit but couldn't make up the difference. A dash of literally any aromatics or herbs would elevate the dish.
All of this would normally be 3 stars - meh. But what kills me is that despite this place being billed as "healthier", you have people working in the kitchen and behind the counter without masks in the middle of a pandemic surge (as of Jan '22). The irony is so thick you could cut it...
