Rita's Burritos — Restaurant in Chandler

I have been coming to this location for about 3-4 years now and was always very good! However over the last few month of this 2024 year the quality of the burritos have gone down immensely. I place my orders through chow now to make it less stressful on staff and it’s easier to make modifications as well. In the past few months I’ve had three orders messed up. First time I just called politely and let them know about the mishap, I didn’t request anything. Second time I called spoke with a gal who was kind and said we could get our next two free cool went and picked them up like 2-3 wks later everything was good. So we took a break the last few months it’s now November and we placed two breakfast burrito orders again we get home one burrito wasn’t right. So I call ask to speak to a manager right away a man gets on the phone and starts telling me he knows for a fact the burritos are right because he made them himself. I then said that is incorrect he was combative with me about it and then finally admitted he made one wrong. He offered to re make that one and give a refund. Which okay fine but now my partners food is going to be cold and we have to drive all the way back there so I asked if he could re make both so we could eat our food hot together. First he said he would do whatever we would like but when I requested both burritos to be re made he refused to do so & was extremely rude and talked over me the whole time telling me we don’t have to drive back that’s our choice. I told him he doesn’t even need to refund us we just want both burritos re made so our food wasn’t cold. He was extremely rude the whole time I then asked him if he was the owner he said yes I asked his name he said Gilbert. I told him to just refund and we will not ever come back. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for a long time & never would expect an owner or manager to talk the way he did. Also burritos were poor quality very soggy tortilla ripping all over the place....

Excellent food. Portion sizes are perfect for their prices. Best place to get burritos I've found so far. Tortillas are nice and perfect. Everything taste great.

Downsides are there's barely any beans in the burrito I requested with it being the carne asada.

Also the Chile Verde burrito for whatever reason is always pouring grease. Not a fan of that.

Always out of Chile relleno burritos whenever I get there after work around 3:15 any random day of the week. Why not make more at this point?

My favorite is the corn in a cup.

Update: 12/23/24. Still every single day there's no Chile rellenos. Also they Never give us the correct amount of hot sauces when they ask how many we want. Their standard seems to be 2 per burrito. Multiple times I ask for 6 sauces. 3 red 3 green for two different Burritos for me and my gf. They only give us two each, or mix and match. Last time I just asked for 6 green and they just gave me 4. So stingey with a whole gallon pitcher full of hot sauce on the table with every single cup filled with them pulling out cold ones from the fridge. Why even bother asking the customer how many they want when they only give 2 max...

The food is good but I've noticed that lately they've been giving very little portion of stew in the burritos.But without a doubt the cashier service is terrible, on Thursday I went for some burritos and I realized that Maybe she gets nervous when she sees a lot of people or I don't know what's wrong with her, but she's supposed to be paid for something, to treat customers "well," and it seems she's the opposite. Apparently she gets paid to treat everyone badly because I also noticed that she treats the kitchen staff badly because they talked to her and she didn't even pay attention to them or anything.Besides, on Saturday I went back because the burritos are really good but the same cashier was there and gave me my order wrong, I realized it when I got home and I had to go back when The business is 25 minutes from my house, they really should do something, but from the comments I see the manager has a terrible attitude and treats customers the same and I don't think he will take it importance to what people say about their service. It's a shame they have good food but...
