today we ventured to channel island harbor to a little spot I had heard was out here and very good. We pulled up we got a Parking spot right in front there were a few people waiting we got on the list and only waited about 10 minutes. We were seated in what I call the best seat in the house right in the corner by the front window great vantage point to see all the action. Our Waitress was Brook. my favorite thing she said to all of our questions was YES. Brook brought us out fresh OJ and man was it good. They passed the hollandaise test too! We ordered a side of Biscuits and gravy it was not the usual "southern white gravy", it had a Spanish flair to it, but dang was it good. I ordered the Buttermilk 'Chicken Fried' Steak with two eggs and country gravy and biscuits the steak was moist and tender cooked to perfection the eggs were perfect over easy sided with my own biscuits and gravy (didn't have to Share) Elizabeth got the Traditional Eggs Benedict with ham and hash browns, also cooked perfect with the wonderful hollandaise topping. Paired with a bloody marry she was a happy diner. My daughter got the Channel Islands Breakfast Burrito with three eggs, two strips of bacon, chorizo, jack cheese, cheddar cheese, sour cream, black beans, avocado and smothered in ranchero sauce. This thing was a behemoth she got thru half of it. Frank, the owner was on point he was working the host station busing tables and pouring coffee all with a smile on his face. The whole staff was great. Frank told me they would be opening for dinner too cant wait! This is our new breakfast spot. and I will be sitting at "my table in the front"

3/3/22 The service again, very good. I really just wish they had more leniency with substitutions on the side options. 8/31/21 The service and food was good. My complaint is that they can not offer a vegetable instead of fruit or potatoes. They have zucchini listed as an option to put in an omelette but not as a side? Or even let someone get an omelette à la carte. They should really have more options for people trying to avoid sugar and starches. 8/2020 My first time here and I will definitely go back! The service was great! The chilaqulas were really good and that sausage they serve with it 🤤 the grilled jalapenos on the side are a must if you like it spicy. They're also dog friendly which was great. My kids shared the french toast and they loved it! I highly recommend this place. Also, they're open till 8 pm and most places seem to close by 2 or 3. Thank you Hollywood beach cafe for being yummy!

First timer, over all experience. 8 out 10 . Ambiance was perfect on a sunny warm day. How else to spend a perfect day in a a setting near the beach . Wait staff at the bar could take some extra training on customer service they lacked welcoming vibe and friendly disposition. Along with the monotone host. Luckily for us Meg our waitress had it down. Great customer service and attention to detail. The cooking staff helped served our table they were also helpful and friendly. We had a few extra backstaff come help out they were friendly and attentive. The food was tasty , the Bloody Mary I ordered was strong, right on point. Overall experience a 8 out 10.

What a shame. What was once a great little breakfast place has now capitulated into the quintessential horrible eatery. I was literally talked out of breakfast there. When I asked the waitress about the items NOT on the menu, seems she had grand knowledge of them only to not share what they were. I asked her to list them, she said 'that will take all day'. She kept reminding me how expensive it all would be. All I wan tr ed was to explore the sides... yet none of the sides I wanted to explore were available on the menu as an option. Poor Mrs Olsens, at least the memory of what that place was. Rest In Peace, small brekky place on Holloywood Beach.

Do NOT go here. Edit. Having been accosted now online by the owner of said horrible establishment, in answer to their rude question of 'who in their right mind would ask what is NOT on the menu, I offer this helpful piece of insight: learn the skill or comprehension, as the waitress that alluded to foods 'NOT' on the menu segues such a query. And to those that understand the simple nature of following a person's advice : I.E. the waitress suggesting I could order half French toast. I bet that option would be appreciated by many, although they wont ever find it because it is NOT on the menu. So here we have a great example of the rude behavior of the overall establishment. The owner responding in accusatory fashion, derogatory and harsh. I guess I'm not in my...

We just happened to find this place since we were in the general area. I can't believe I've never been here before. Super close to the beach. We even had time to walk to the beach and get our feet wet before our table was ready. Great breakfast!

I got the HBC breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun with extra crispy hashbrowns and my boyfriend got a Belgian waffle with berries and whipped cream, home potatoes and sausage.

I saw a picture of the sandwich I ended up getting on the wall from a newspaper review they had and knew that's what I was getting. It's got scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, avocado and grilled tomatoes. The bun was perfectly toasted and the sandwich was crispy and fluffy. The extra crispy hashbrowns were a great addition to my sandwich. I put a bit of hash on each of my sandwich bites. ;)

The waffle was fabulous and the whipped cream was light and buttery. The house potatoes are my favorite. They are baby reds with onion and red and green bell peppers. They use a great spice mix on them and you can tell they boil them a bit first.

I also got a "manmosa," which is mimosa in a proper sized drinking glass and they don't skimp on the champagne. Tasty!

The staff is very friendly and service is fast. It was fantastic and we will definitely be coming back as this is a regular spot from now on.

Next time we'll have to...
