I love this places pizza but hate the service and owners because they are obviously sexist and dirty and just downright creepy. My ups store is right next you to this place and so I thought I would stop in for a little nash. I was excited to get a slice because their pizza is so delicious but when I walked in it was empty and I heard male voices yelling at a woman in the back saying that they dont usually hire women because the work is so physical and that the closing duties for the store are not fit for a woman yada yada yada. I had never seen a female employee there before and so I was at once relieved and disgusted at the same time. I just wanted a piece of pizza so I waited for them to come out and saw the woman and watched how they treated her, barking orders, hovering over her, being unnecessarily rude and condescending, etc in front of a customer and a female customer at that just as two mother and daughters and another family were walking in. It was a very dusturbing and infuriating experience and I just needed to get this out there considering I was only one who heard their words. Why would they talk to her like that in front of customers which is incredibly unprofessional or hire a woman in the first place if they are just going to treat her like that huh? I will never forget this experience and I am going to report their remarks and disriminatory and sexist practices and behaviors to the proper authorities. Worst part is she was obviously a perfectly good worker and was obviously far more educated and intelligent than they were. I suppose this is her trial period. Either way these store owners need to be put in their place, apologize to her and be punished for their actions and I will make sure they are. I mean who do they think they are treating someone like that? I understand employers can be gruff but this was innapropriate and...
Read moreI never thought that I would be writing a review such as this one. Certainly had the situation been handled appropriately I wouldn't be here.
We have been dining at Pop's as a family for years and have always enjoyed ourselves. Tim and I would escape from work during lunch so we could get a lunch special. Always great times, so this is made tonight even worse.
The 3 of us arrived to an nearly empty restaurant. I was the first to order asking for a "beef gyro sandwich with fries and a drink." hubby went next asking for "the same", Chloe was last, asking for literally "the same" except she wanted her tziki sauce on the side.
We made ourselves comfortable at a nearby table and waited for our dinner. Sadly, what arrived was NOT what we ordered. The most i can figure is we recieved veggie and cheese heroes. Which is pretty far off from what we ordered.
Tim spoke with the gentleman that took our order, he came to the table saying that is what we ordered. He again said that we "ordered the veggies". I explained to him that under no circumstances is that what we ordered, we ordered the gyro sandwiches, fries and drinks. Again, he stated that we ordered the veggies then turned and walked away. No effort whatsoever to remedy the situation, no apologies, not even a gee I must have misunderstood you.
No customer service skills whatsoever, absolutely disgusting to treat a paying customer this way. While disappointed Tim ate his, but Chloe and I left hungry. So we leave our hard earned money there but we still have empty stomachs. We came back to Hillsborough and sought out our gyros from a local place.
We paid a total of $38 and some chage for 3 people, and we were treated like we did not matter in...
Read moreOverall Score: 4.9/10 – A very average pizza spot with a friendly staff and a large menu, but nothing stood out enough to make it memorable, and small charges for simple requests took away from the experience.
Atmosphere and Service: 5.1/10 – The outside looks decent, and the inside is big, clean, and styled like a traditional pizza shop with spacious dine-in seating. The staff seemed genuinely friendly. The menu had plenty of options, but a 46-cent charge just to put mustard on the side of a sub felt unnecessary and off-putting.
Cheese Pizza: 4.8/10 – The pizza felt like it had been reheated and didn’t deliver much flavor. The slice was thicker than expected and lacked any real zest or character. It wasn’t bad, just plain and forgettable. The price was fair, but the quality didn’t make much of an impression.
Chicken Broccoli Ziti: 4.7/10 – A very bland dish overall. The sauce was extremely light, offering little to no flavor. The chicken tasted like basic, unseasoned pieces and didn’t appear grilled, which left it lacking depth. Not a dish that felt worth the cost.
Steak and Cheese: 5.2/10 – Slightly better but still a safe and basic sandwich. The bread was toasted perfectly, but the steak portion was underwhelming, and the flavor was flat. Nothing bold or exciting about the sandwich to make...
