I drove fifteen minutes past five different coffee shops to park downtown and come get my chai tea latte from Bitty & Beau's today. For me, it wasn't about the product, it was about the service and the people who work here. It was about supporting a business that does what's right and does it the right way. I was greeted immediately upon entering, before the door even completely closed, and was pleased to see that the line wasn't long, and that a big smile was waiting for me at the register to take my order. I was given a four of diamonds playing card to hold my spot in line for the finished product, and gladly waited and watched while the magic happened behind the counter. Not the magic of making the chai tea latte, but the magic of the people behind the counter working together, helping each other, and treating their customers with kindness and respect while handing out the completed orders. The playing card is significant because it is held next to the order receipt under a small plexi-glass tablet to make it easy for your order to be completed and called out. I honestly wish more baristas would do this, because it made the process go so much smoother (and quite honestly more fun). I will be back this weekend with my family, and if I can sneak out of work at least once a week to come visit for a beverage, then I will be happy to be a loyal patron of...
Read moreLOVE the concept and drive behind this franchise and leave this review with a heavy heart, but after being lured to this spot because it had the highest coffee shop rating in the area, only to realize the score is clearly more about the values of the business than the product and service, I am compelled to counter. ☹️☹️☹️
Let me put it this way, if it weren't for the inclusiveness, if this were just a typical business, I would say the service and food were 1 star. I am all for supporting businesses like this, but ultimately a customer expects and deserves 4.7 ⭐ food and service when a business is rated 4.7 ⭐. But you won't get that here.
Again, my entire family loved the concept and it was super refreshing vibe-wise, but product and service were objectively 1 star.
I do wonder, is the company nonprofit? Does it pay regular employees very well, or does it pay the executives and shareholders instead? How far do they take the good values, all the way? I hope so, because all four of us, all very progressive and charitable people, ended up throwing our drinks away, contributing to much wastefulness.
Love the concept, but if you're looking for fast service and delicious drinks, this is probably not the...
