I am so excited that WV finally has a cat cafe. Cups and Cats Cafe has an adorable shop located in Charleston with all the drinks you would get at a coffee house. The cafe is next to the cat lounge with a huge window to see all the cats. So you could just grab a drink and watch the cats. I was bummed to see there were only 8 kitties out. This cafe does not allow the cats to freely leave the room and use the litter box or get cat food. So many were in the back with the door closed. I was put off by the room attendants who were hovering over the patrons. Yes, there were two teenage girls playing with the cats, but they were very well behaved and using the toys properly. I witnessed the attendants come up to them and say the cat didn’t want to play. The cat was still playing with the toy. I overheard the owner say they have 12 applicants on a cat. Why is it still there? It concerns me that this shop is being too picky about finding homes. They will not be in business long if they are too attached to the cats and do not locate...
Read moreSuch a cool experience. My niece loves animals so this seemed the purrr-fect mini day trip. I wouldn't call myself a cat person, but this was still a delightful time. It was entertaining watching all the cats interact and play and climb on the available toys. Some would interact with the people and even let you pet them, some were standoff-ish which is totally understandable. There was someone available to answer any and all questions you may have about the cats and their program. The coffee in the cafe was wonderful. Tea and hot chocolate along with lots of other drink options are available. Delicious looking pastries were available also although we didn't try any during this visit. You pay separately to get into the cat area to pet and play, but there are large windows to view the area from the street and/or while sipping your coffee next door. Go try it out and support a...
Read moreCute and Fun. When you walk into the main door it's like a regular Cafe. Then they have a wall down the middle with huge windows. You can watch the cats through them. If you want to play with the cats you can "rent" time. The cats are rescues. It's a good cause and if you have a cat allergy, I feel like you could still enjoy the Cafe part as long as it's not a...
